The first day of 2011…it’s been pretty quiet around here–a lot of relaxing and a little sewing (hoping to tackle e-mails later on this evening). I procrastinated starting my “Mon Ami” quilt (December was so busy!)–but have really been enjoying working on it today (“Mon Ami,” a Schnibbles pattern by Carrie Nelson of Miss Rosie’s Quilt Co. will be our quilt for the February 1st parade).
I’m using Rural Jardin by French General for Moda with some Martinique for my background. These are the exact fabrics Carrie used for her version. I have to say I love every French General collection, but I’ve struggled a bit in picking designs to sew with them–so when I saw that Carrie had used these fabrics for her quilt, I knew I’d be doing the same.
We’ve had a lot of wonderful pictures sent to us for today’s parade of Cara’s Prairie Point Christmas pattern. First up is a beautiful version by Nathalie–love these greens!
Leah made a fun red and green version!
Linda‘s is beautiful as well.
Sandy F (no blog) sent this photo…love the star on top of her tree!
Laura (no blog) sent along this photo–love it.
Leslie’s (also no blog) version looks wonderful as part of her decor.
Marie-Joze sent this beautiful version using pinks and greens.
Mary on Lake Pulaski used Fig Tree fabrics for her version–of course I absolutely love it!
Michelle‘s version is also stunning!
Paulette (no blog) also made a beautiful quilt.
Sandie L made this fun version!
Satu sent along this beautiful version with a gorgeous blue border!
Simone made this really colorful version of Prairie Point Christmas–I love it!
And our last quilt is from Tonya–just a wonderful parade today–thank you to everyone! Make sure you stop by Sinta’s to see the rest of the quilts. And…best wishes for the New Year!

All so pretty! I too have been using my Quilt in A Day triangle square up ruler for Mon Ami…no easier way than this! Makes trimming a breeze and I'm nearly finished with my top!

wonderful parade of trees!
I lost control over most of the end of 2010, but am hoping to get back to playing in 2011. I have several pre-cuts of French General and have been saving them for something…maybe Mon Ami is just the thing!
