I love all things handmade, and I especially love the feeling of working on hand-sewing projects!
This weekend I watched a lot of this and had the opportunity to do a lot of handwork while watching! First I decided to work on hexagons…I think the orange one is my favorite in this group…maybe because of the fussy-cut scissors?! I have a couple charm packs of Moda’s Half-Moon Modern and finally broke into one of them to make the little scissor hexie!
I love the blue hexagon, too…such a diverse group of fabrics here…Amy Butler, Denyse Schmidt, Lily Ashbury’s Gypsy Girl, and some Seaside.
I had to make a pink one…
And a green one!
They are just so much fun together…
And my collection of hexie flowers is growing!
I also had time to sew this scrappy binding on my Bee’s Knees quilt…
It’s now all finished and ready for the wash!
Don’t forget there is still time to enter the Moda Sweet Celebrations giveaway here…and the Fat Quarter Shop giveaway here…
Oh…and I have some wonderful news to share soon–I’ve had the go-ahead to “spill the beans” for a little while; I just need to figure out how I want to write the post!
Thanks so much for stopping by…have a wonderful day!

Can't wait to hear your news. I love your hexies. Seriously love. Do you use a whip stitch or a ladder stitch to sew them together? Your stitching is absolutely invisible. I'm about to start on an EPP project, and I want my stitches to be as invisible as yours! I love the bright colors of your hexies!

I spent a year with a hexi flower quilt, all purple fabrics with yellow centers. It took forever to find all the purples, then it took forever to paper piece them. I had piles and piles of paper hexi's …i cut up all the subscription requests that one annoyingly finds in magazines. It's one of my favorite quilts…I took it to all my sons hockey practices and games . I developed quite a relationship with that quilt by the time it all came together

Love your hexies…question for you..How do you sew them together? I seen no stitching at all..looks like you have glued them together. I do want to try and make some one day. Thanks for any infor on making the hexies and putting them together. If you have a tut on that I must have missed it.
