Welcome to the Simply Fat Quarters Showcase! Kimberly of Fat Quarter Shop and the other It’s Sew Emma Designers have created a wonderful Fat Quarters project book!
The designs are fun and modern, beautiful and traditional…you will love every pattern! Each quilt design is created using fat quarters, making the patterns perfect for sewing with your favorite collection or fabrics from your stash. Each quilt can be made in four different sizes–yardage and cutting instructions are given for each size.
I was able to make Carousel, the cover quilt, using the fabric line of my choice! Even though the original pattern is created with a traditional Fig Tree collection, Tapestry, I knew the pattern would be really cute in the bright Sew Cherry Christmas collection!
I really heart this quilt and pattern. And guess what? I get to pick four winners–three people will receive the Simply Fat Quarters book, and a fourth person will receive the book and a kit to make the complete quilt top! To enter leave a comment on this post–you can comment about anything “fallish”…or leave your ideas for storing fat quarters! The giveaway will remain open until midnight October 14th!
Thanks so much for stopping by, and have a great day!

(that was my joke about adding something about 'fall'). anne

Fall to me has always meant baking time. And lucky you, I just ran across this recipe about 45 minutes ago so I'm going to share it with you. You can't get much more Fall-ish than Pumpkin right? These cookies look amazing. Who knew they now make Pumpkin Spice Hershey's Kisses? I sure didn't but I know I MUST find some soon and make these cookies.

I was just in the quilt shop looking at books for some fat quarter inspiration, I am sorting my fabrics and have so many fq's to work with..but that's OK, I love scrappy quilts!
The fall colours are especially brilliant this year, maybe due to the very dry and hot summer we have had – it's raining today, which is bringing down the leaves by the bushel!

Instead of doing a major spring cleaning I do a Fall cleanup. I spend a week cleaning and purging around the house to get everything ready for theI holidays. I like to get closets cleaned out and toys handed down and all the deep cleaning I hate to do! I am about 3days into it now and have already made a trip to Goodwill.

There is one perfect week in fall that I love more than any other time of the whole year. The week where the trees are mostly turned their bright colours but the leaves are still attached and not on the ground. Nothing beats the beauty to the eye here. As far as how to store fat quarters, in a fabric bin I made. So far I don't have that many I need to worry about them yet!

This isn't my original idea – I read it somewhere. They fit nicely in those big clear plastic boxes that baby spinach comes in at the grocery store and the boxes stack well on the shelf. You can see at a glance what colors you have and you can separate by color, collection, designer, etc.
Cheryl says
I agree with you – that quilt is so very pretty. I love fall because then I can drag out my handmade quilts from the linen closet and curl up in them while reading a good book.

I store all my FQ in old pop crates, they all look so cute and colorful! We tore down a huge old soda warehouse and I found a ton of old soda crates that had the slots in them so it was perfect for fat quarters! I hung them all up on the wall and my stash continues to grow…good thing I have a ton of crates!
