Hello and happy Wednesday! Today is block pattern release day for the Fat Quarter Shop Clementine Quilt Along! And we’re now about ⅔ of the way finished with the blocks (there are 12 blocks in this quilt with two patterns each month). Blocks each month are the same design but in two different sizes. I love them all, but the smaller blocks are always so cute!
I used a lighter print floral for one of the units in the large block. I think it will be fine, although I’ll use another light print or two in a later block or blocks for balance when the quilt is put together.
Here are all four of the smaller blocks together…it’s easier to see the different block designs this way because the larger blocks are so big they won’t really fit easily in a photo!
Since I’m using scraps I’m starting to
have to get a little creative with my fabric choices. This month I used
two different yellows for one of the units in the large block…and I
really like how it turned out! I think each section could actually be
scrappy if you’re also using scraps…or even if you aren’t!
I’m also running a little low on my tone on tone background…I may switch to another one for the remaining blocks and save this to use for quilt assembly.
Are you quilting along? You can find all of the free block patterns here with information on fabric requirements as well. Quilt Kits are also available in the Mama’s Cottage fabric collection along with a limited number of backing sets.
There are also a lot of quilters participating in the quilt along for this quilt…you can find links to all of them at the bottom of the pattern page!
Happy quilting, and thanks so much for stopping by!
