Hello! Today I’m introducing the final two patterns for The Front Porch fabric collection…these are the final two quilts that I received back from the quilter, the final two I did the binding on…and perhaps my two favorites (have I said that about all of the others, though?)!
I love flower blocks, and wanted to set these in a whimsical way so it looked like
they were dancing…I think it’s a really fun setting for these fun blocks! I used one of my favorite prints for the outer border (yes, there is text on some of the fabric prints…details coming soon)! And the green binding…sets it off perfectly!
Marion used a quilting design called “Plaid” which I absolutely love on this quilt…this is a really nice-sized quilt, finishing at 64″ x 78″. It’s a fat quarter quilt…and once again I used the light print fat quarters for a lot of the block backgrounds. Pattern directions also give instructions if you want to use just one background; however, I really love the scrappy effect when using several prints with a little added texture.
And finally…be still my heart…is Pink Lemonade! I fell in love with this block design and knew it had to find its way into one of my quilts. I had a lot of fun using two different prints for each block, mixing up the backgrounds, and then seeing the secondary patterns the design produces! The soft coral border with green binding set it off perfectly.
Pink Lemonade finishes at 59″ x 75″ and can be made with a Layer Cake + background/border fabrics. Marion used the Bread Basket quilting design which suited this quilt perfectly!
new patterns are available in my Etsy shop now. PDF versions of Flower Garden and Pink Lemonade are available for immediate download, and paper
patterns will ship in about 1 week. There are also some pattern specials
available this week if you are purchasing any combination of 3 patterns
or all 6 of my new patterns. Okay…I’ll be
back tomorrow to share fabric close ups and details of all of the fabric prints and color
Thanks so much for stopping by!
