Hello and happy Thursday! First, thank you so much for all of the kind comments about the patterns and fabrics–I really appreciate it! Today I’m sharing a closer look at the fabrics in The Front Porch collection…so many favorites in this collection. While I’ve loved sewing with each of our collections, for some reason this one was the most fun! I really love this mix of prints and patterns and colors…more than I knew I would before actually getting to sew with it!
The collection has 27 SKU’s…six different prints with six different colors (not
all of the prints come in each color). It’s hard to pick a favorite print or even color, but I have to say…
the light/low-volume prints are amazing! I knew they would be fun to work with, but I wasn’t prepared for how much I would use them in each and every quilt. The use of these prints added a lot of texture to the quilts; however, they weren’t so intrusive as to be overwhelming.
Our Garden print is one of my favorites…the combination of flowers and words…two of my favorite things! This print works beautifully for blocks, sashings, borders and even backings.
Rose Bed is another favorite print. While it has a few of the same elements as the Garden print, it is decidedly different. This print also works beautifully for blocks, sashings, borders and backings (I used it for a binding on one of the quilts, too).
The Florets prints are favorites too. Something about these cute cotton blossom prints just adds a nice touch of whimsy to the collection. They seemed to add that special something used within quilt blocks and made absolutely terrific bindings!
The Stems print is very sweet. The light version works great as a background while the pistachio and light coral make great borders and block pieces.
The Petals print comes in six different colors and is so very versatile…used in blocks and bindings…these cute heart-stars are sure to be a favorite basic and blender!
And finally…our Lattice print also comes in six different versions. This is another basic. I’m nearly out of the ivory and pistachio because I used them every. chance. I. could. in the quilts. I’ll be ordering bolts and bolts. The ivory is such a wonderful cream on cream background. This print is also fun on the bias or the straight of grain for bindings!
We hope you will love sewing with The Front Porch as much as we have! This collection for Moda fabrics is showing to shop owners now and will ship in February. Be sure to let your favorite shops know that you’d love for them to order!
I do have some introductory priced fat quarter bundles available for pre-order in the shop (fabrics will not ship until February). And, the introductory pattern prices and bundle offers will be good through this weekend.
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Gorgeous prints Sherri!! I can see why you loved sewing with them!! And if you decide to order some bolts of the low volume prints and put bundles together, I'd love a bundle with 1/2 yards to supplement the FQ bundle I'm going to pre-order from you. 🙂 Or maybe a one yard of each bundle: they really are delicious looking!!! Congrats to you and your daughter for a gorgeous line!! Can't wait till February!! 🙂 Hugs, H

Thank you for showing close-ups on all of the prints and oh, such awesome colors. I've always loved your navy's and red's and aqua's, but seeing the added corals and greens, has made this line especially gorgeous. Also love the low volumes and the cream on cream. What an awesome fabric line!

Love the new collection Sherri and Chelsi!!!! The colors are fantastic, the prints are gorgeous!!! I can't wait to create with these 😉 I especially love that you make each of your prints read a specific color, that is so very helpful when planning quilts 😉 Oh, and the low volume prints, incredible!!!!
