Happy Friday! Well…I set everything aside and put the red and green blocks together! I wasn’t sure about the setting at first, but I really do think this setting lets each block shine on it’s own. The sashing sets everything off beautifully, and the four-patch blocks add just the perfect pop of color as posts.
The quilt ended up quite a bit bigger than I imagined. I thought I was going to
be adding a border or two, but it fits perfectly on the full-size bed in our guest room. This is where I want to use the quilt, so I guess I won’t be adding any borders!
I took a few pictures to share…and I’ll definitely share again when it is quilted!
So many of the blocks are my favorite…it’s hard to pick just one! Since the blocks finish at 16″, I’m going to make pillows using a couple of them.
I think this quilt ended up with just the perfect mix of green and red. I loved having the patterns and fabric shipped each month, and I also liked that we could add our own touches and decide where the fabrics would be placed.
It’s really going to be hard to have this leave my house to be quilted…
…but it sure will be fun to get it back!
Sorry for the photo overload on this one…but I
really had fun with this block of the month…it’s always so
bittersweet finishing up a quilt that has been worked on over a long
period of time!

i love your quilt! And glad it worked without the border becuase adding a border to such a big quilt is not so much fun. I think I'll make my own red & green quilt for this season with the temecula 12 days sew-along. A small mini is just what I need right now. BTW how are your FW blocks? With these I'm really good and made already 55, yes, I'm surprised, too;-) Have a wonderful weekend:-)
