Happy December! December…really?!!! I do love this month, and I’m happy to begin here on the blog with a Mini’s and More parade. We offered a free choice of patterns last month, and it really has been fun to see the projects come in…I know I have some new things to add to the list!
The first quilt is from Brenda who made this “Trees on the Table” for her
daughter’s dorm room. The pattern is actually a free pattern by
Patchalot Patterns. I think I need to make this one for sure!
Next is a foundation paper-pieced quilt from Carolyn. Carolyn took a class for this project at Quilt Festival in Houston this year and finished it up just in time for the holidays! The pattern is Cindi Edgerton’s Little Bits – Trim The Trees III.
Hildy actually made my Log Cabin Table Topper for her project! I love her combination of reds and aquas!
Karen used a Frivols pattern and her own fabric choices for her quilt! This pattern is on my list, too!
And finally, Kristen finished up the Thimbleblossoms mini Tulips quilt for her entry! I love that she mentioned in her blog post that it was ironic she finished up these tulips after the first snow of the season!
Don’t forget to visit Michele’s blog to see the rest of the mini quilts and more for this month!
Now…we know this month is a busy one, too, but we still thought it would be fun to have a parade. Michele found three fun projects this month, and I couldn’t decide, so we decided to offer all three as options!
The first option is a Cotton Way pattern called “Abundantly Blessed.” Michele and I have both been wanting to make this for a little while! I’ve actually had the pattern for a few years. My pattern has a different quilt on the cover…I believe Bonnie re-did the cover just recently, so don’t worry if you have the older version of the pattern. This is a raw-edge Cathedral Window technique that I’ve seen made up…it’s really a fun quilt.
The other two options are both Moda Bake Shop free patterns…and they are both perfect for the season! You can find the first one, Christmas Baubles here.
This is a fun mini charm pack pattern by Jen Daly!
The final option and second Moda Bake Shop quilt is the Oh Christmas Tree quilt by Amy Rivera. This one is a modern take on a Christmas tree…and it would be fun in any fabrics, modern or traditional…it wouldn’t even have to be made with Christmas fabrics, either!
We hope you’ll join with us in making one of these three fun projects–they are all perfect for using up scraps…and even more perfect for gift giving!
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Wonderful parade! It's always fun to see what patterns are made during a free choice month. We had a great mix, from Christmas to Spring and everything in between! Why didn't I think of that sentence when I was writing my post? 😉

Great seeing the lovely quilts others have made. Also want you to know the article in the American Patchwork Magazine about you was really nice and I enjoyed reading it. I love the look of the quilt pattern you submitted and can't wait to make my own. Thanks for your great work.
