Hello and happy Monday! Today I wanted to let you know about upcoming classes and the new blog format I’ve recently updated on my site. Hopefully, some of this additional information on the blog changes will help you navigate the site even easier.
First of all…the blog updates and new format! I’ve received many kind emails and comments about the new changes here on the blog! I am over the moon happy with how everything has turned out! I have a bit of work to do to finish up getting everything organized so that you (and I) can more easily access blog content.
One of the things I’m most excited about is that you’ll be able to access the landing pages for the Quilting Life Block of the Month directly from the menu bar on my home page. If you simply hover your cursor over the “Block Tutorials” tab you’ll see the “Mystery BOM” tab appear. You can go to that page at any time to access all of the information and links for this year’s block of the month. You’ll also see a “Summer Sampler” tab which will be for my summer quilt along beginning in June! And…click on the “More Blocks” tab to find links for even more of my free block tutorials!
Another feature I’m really happy about it that you now have the option to search my tutorials by category directly from the home page. I’ve divided them into the categories of “quilts,” “pillows,” “bags,” and “more” to make it easier for you! I’ve uploaded several of the tutorial links already and will be working on getting the rest added in over the next couple of weeks.
You can also easily access my Etsy shop by clicking on the “Pattern Shop” button in the menu bar. Again…I’m updating pages as soon as I can to make it easier for you to find all of the content available here at A Quilting Life. Thanks again for all of the positive input about these new blog format changes!
Finally…in the comments section. I’m now able to easily answer questions in the comments section, so if you ask a question I’ll answer it right there in order to help others who might have the same question!
I also want to let you know about a fun retreat I’ll be teaching at this fall at Hollyhill Quilt Shoppe (in the Portland, Oregon area). This will be a two-day workshop with catered lunches each day. You can choose to work on my Family Tree or Be My Neighbor quilts (or both…work on one each day) and will receive instruction and tips from me for both projects. Hollyhill will also include a shopping discount for participants and is offering a 20% class sign up fee if you register by June 30th. This is going to be a great time at a great shop with a wonderful classroom in a beautiful location! Go here for more information on this fun weekend.
I have some really fun things coming up this week: Tomorrow will be the minis and more parade featuring my “Be My Neighbor Mini” pattern, and I’ll have the May Block of the Month information posted by the end of the week. I hope your week is off to an absolutely wonderful start! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Hi Sherri
The updates to your blog sound great – especially the change to comments section! I have often wondered what the answer is to a question that someone has asked in the comments, so it will be fantastic for us all to now be able to see your replies. Thanks for all the effort you put into your blog and for sharing so much great quilting info & inspiration with us. Cheers, Kelly
