Hello Summer
Well, I know it's not officially summer yet, but school is out, and I think the heat is here to stay (until Octoberish). So on the first full day of not having to wake up at 6:00 a.m. I did a little sewing. I'd been wanting to make the glasses case from the latest issue of Quilts & More...and it was a great little pattern.
I got a little carried away and decided to make three to match the zipper bags I'm using for gifts. Now I need to make one of these cases for myself because it will really help me find my sunglasses in my purse!
Binding is completed on my Spools quilt...and it's already hanging up in my sewing room. Painting this room is on the "to do" list this summer, and then I'll share an update of all the changes I've been making in here. I smile every time I look over at this quilt...those colorful spools just make me so happy!
I'm working on finishing the binding on my Strawberry Fields quilt. I recently bought a small package of the new Clover Wonder Clips to try. I absolutely love them. They are a little pricey, so I'll have to collect them little by little, but I definitely think they are worth the money, especially if you can find a sale or use a coupon.
I've been waiting to share my market sewing until the designers have posted about their new patterns, and I can finally share one of the quilts I made in April. This is Flower Girl, designed by Camille using Marmalade. I loved sewing this quilt. These are just a couple of pictures I snapped before it was off to be quilted.
Really heart this quilt. I think it would be really fun as a 9-block wall hanging too...

And this is what it looks like now...after some fabulous quilting by Angela. You can read more about this quilt and Camille's other new patterns here.
Thanks so much for stopping by...have a wonderful weekend!

Love your spools quilt, such a wonderful pice of work for a work room. Thanks for the tip on the clips, another item added to my shopping list.
Beautiful works Sherri. I am waiting for my Marmalade bundle (my friend bought one at Sample Spree) so I'll start it very soon. Congrats and happy weekend
That Flower Girl quilt is very beautiful!
I like the clover clips better than the other ones that look like hair clips. I bought a 50 pack at Joann's a couple weeks ago with a 50% off coupon. Your Marmalade gifts are so cute. Love your spool quilt too. I have that pattern and hope to make one for my sewing room soon. It may not be officially summer but sure feels like it here in Phx.
Love the flower quilt! It was one of my very selfish purchases at market!
So much eye-candy, Sherri.
I won some of the new Clover clips recently and am very anxious to try them. I'm hoping they arrive soon :-) I'd love to know why you like them.
I love those Clover Wonder Clips too. It's a tool I know I will use over and over again. Great quilts!
I love every project in this post! Those glass cases are so stinkin cute...and your quilts...WONDERFUL!!

Hi, Love the new quilt, Flower Girl by Camille. Do you know if it is available yet for sale? If so, where?? I really want to make it, I think it may be my new very favorite pattern.
Thanks!! ~~ susan
Beautiful. I love the colours of the fabrics. Very smiley and summery.
I love all of your items shown on your post today. I still need to sew Camille's "Swoon" pattern but I can see "Flower Girl" won't be far behind. Beautiful!

Your quilts are beautiful. And those clips were gifted to me--they are great!! :-)

Both of those quilts are truly gorgeous! I want both patterns. Sweet eyeglass cases with their matching zip bags. Someone is going to be very lucky with tht gift. Enjoy your summer hours!
I am loving your spools quilt. Where did you find the pattern??
I love those sunglass cases- it sure would help find the glasses, and keep them from scratching up in the purse.
And your spools quilt is lovely- great quilt for a sewing room :-)
I really love your spools quilt, too. I love those Clover binding clips, too. I somehow found them on sale on line once for about 60% off the price. So, I bought about 30 of them at that time. Sorta wished I had bought a few more. But so far, those have been holding me over well. They are really great for binding!
Great stuff! Those glasses cases are just darling!
Sheri, you are getting so much done! Your sewing room is prettified with that new spools quilt, the Camille quilt is lovely, and it looks like you had a lot of fun making those glasses cases. I'll have to check out that issue of Quilts and More. Have a super day!
Hi Sherri. Your glass holders are too cute. What a great gift idea! And your spools quilt is adorable on your sewing wall. That is exactly what I want to do when I make mine. How did you hang yours? I cant wait to see your sewing room. :0)
Have a nice day. :0) Trish
Those little glasses holders are adorable Sherri. You get such an amazing amount of sewing done -- and it's all beautiful! I love those fun little clips too!
You get so much done. It speaks of your ability to prioritize and finish. Lovely qualities to have. Summer is definitely at your house I'm sure. Usually we get to mid June before the air comes on at my house but we tried it out and the upstairs one is broken. So I hope the repair man comes before the heat starts.
I already purchased the Flower Girl pattern to make a "big girl" quilt for my granddaughter. She'll be moving out of the crib soon and needs a larger quilt.
Lovely quilt piecing as always. The eyeglass cases are cute AND I have that magazine. I'm pretty sure I even have some scraps around here...
My mom brought me the Flower Girl pattern and Marmalade fabric bundle home from sample spree. It's such a happy stack of fabric. You did a beautiful job putting the quilt together!
