After dreaming of the new fabrics, I set about putting the borders on and finishing my "didn't go to Quilt Market" therapy quilt...it's 62 x 72 of wonderful Fig & Plum goodness! I really love this quilt, but the soft colors didn't photograph well this morning.I wasn't going to use the blue fabrics since this quilt is going in the master bedroom where there isn't any blue, but I'm so glad I decided to use them--they just seemed to add a certain sparkle of freshness to the quilt and didn't look out of place at all when I took the quilt into my room.
Since Monday will be Memorial Day here in the United States, I got out one of my favorite red and blue quilts. This is a "Laps from Fats" pattern made up in Nantucket, a line from Moda that I was in love with a couple of years ago...it reminds me of everything about the beach! I used to hang this quilt on the wall, but decided to wash it and use it for a couch quilt this year! I'm always a little apprehensive to wash a quilt for the first time, since I don't pre-wash my fabrics. I used a Color Catcher in the washer--and no problems...in fact I've never had a single problem with any of the Moda fabrics I've used.I can't wait to sew today...I think I'm going to make this Layer Cake pattern!
Have a wonderful day!

Guess you have started your new quilt.. will be so much fun to see it...:o)
Love Fig & Plum goodness too.. lovely colours.. :o)
Boy that quilt went together fast! It looks great & I like the blue in it also. I am so behind... no red white & blue out yet *need to fix that! Like your choice for the Pattern Basket pattern. Lucky you, you get to quilt and forget all about that traffic:)
Ok. I'm saving the moda site as a treat later if I get a few things done. Yikes! Monday is Memorial Day. Now I knew that but it wasn't until you said that - that I realized I haven't put up my flag quilt at the front door or put my other flag quilt out like I usually do. Whew I'm behind. Love the 2 quilts. Lovely. Really lovely. Of course. I like how you named the one 'didn't go to market'. SOmeday we can go together!
Well, your quilt is adorable! I love it. Tell me more about it - pattern, etc. :-)
I love the Nantucket quilt, as well.
I'm crazy about Millhouse and Wiscasset - both are soooo pretty!
I forgot to mention the Confetti Cake pattern - I made that last year with Prairie Paisley and it's definite favorite. You're going to enjoy the pattern!
I think you, Dawn, Nanette and I all need to go to market together! How does that sound? Sounds like Heaven to me.
Ricci and the staff at Superior were at Market and I was so wishing I was there too.
You were brave to drive through Las Vegas. Did you at least get to some quilt shops after braving the traffic?
the confetti cake quilt looks beautiful, and I love the fig and plum one too.

I'm glad you used the blues...the quilt is gorgeous! Your next project looks lovely too!
I've been wanting to make that layer cake pattern. You will have to let me know how it goes. It looks like lots of little pieces, which I'm not having time for right now.
I love the Fig and Plum quilt. I started making a quilt with that fabric, but wasn't sure if I liked it.... partly because of the blues. I only made two blocks and have been debating about what to do. I love yours though and now want to use it!
Seeing your red, white and blue makes me excited to get out my summer quilts also!
Beautiful Fig and Plum quilt!
Your 'Didn't go to Market' quilt is beautiful, Sherri. When you 'throw' together quilts like that, maybe you should never go to market...perish the thought! (wink)
Must now go and check out the new Moda collections. Thanks for the links.
Love the quilt..
So much beautiful fabrics. so much to choose from..Confetti Cake pattern looks like a must have!

About adding in the blue. It does look very interesting with the blue added. I would have been tempted to leave out the blue too. But, I really like it. beautiful fabrics. It looks fast. V.

Wow, your therapy quilt is fabulous! I love those blocks. And um, an hour in traffic? Ugh, that sounds awfully frustrating!

You are right, the blue suited the quilt perfectly!
Your Fig and Plum quilt is just wonderful...Love it! Your red, white and blue is the perfect Memorial Day quilt. And oh I can't wait to see your Confetti Cake quilt...I love that pattern.
Your quilt is beautiful. I like the blue. Life would be dull without pretty blues. Do you have a plan for the little triangle squares? I like Simple Abundance too. It's fun to see what you make so quickly. Betty
Both quilts are beautiful! Can't wait to see what you make up today
Kris
Love your projects!!!! I too am in love with those upcoming Moda lines. I am addicted to Fig Tree fabrics--I seem to get some of every line even though I tell myself "not this time" LOL!

I'm with Nedra!! Wouldn't it be a blast!! Your Market therapy quilt is beautiful!! Love the new pattern you picked out for your next project!
Love the top and the quilt. I saw that pattern the other day at our shop. Didn't buy it but I like it a lot.
Glad you put the blue in your 'I didn't go to market' quilt!! Looking forward to seeing the layer cake pattern made up. So glad to find someone else who doesn't prewash!!!
Hi Sheri!
I love what you did with your retail therapy purchase! Those are my favorite fabric lines.
Can't wait to see more.
Oh, I am, too, in love with Joanna's new fabric line...and Rouenneries...and Wiscasset...sigh...too much temptations ;o).
Can't wait for your version of Confetti Cake {believe it or not, but this pattern is also on my wish list...seems we love pretty much the same things ;o)}.
Hugs, Julia
