Hello and happy Monday! I’ve been making a little progress on my “On the Plus Side” quilt and thought I’d share a few thoughts on that today. I’m having a lot of fun working on this quilt in between other projects. Sometimes I just do a little cutting, and other times I do a little sewing!
I know I’ll probably end up having to purchase some fabrics for this quilt (I think
I’ll really need some more background fabrics as they are going quickly and will also be needed for the outer border, but for now I’m rummaging through my scraps and trying to see what I can come up with before shopping!
The other day I cut a bunch of strips in the two sizes I need for this quilt.
And then a couple of days later I had extra time to make strip sets. For tips on sewing with strip sets see this post, and for the best quick and easy (and accurate) way to trim strip sets see this post.
A couple of days later and I had pieces all cut and stacked for block sewing…twenty four more blocks ready to go!
I ended up prepping a few more before I started sewing…I found some more blue and cream fabrics in hiding while looking for something else!
I love each and every one of these blocks. Since I’m sewing from scraps now, I have different numbers of blocks I’m making from the various prints and backgrounds.
This is going to be such a scrappy quilt that I started making some blocks with scrappy backgrounds, too.
This is really a fun project…I think I’m hooked! Thanks so much for stopping by!
