Hope your weekend was wonderful! We’ve been having delightful spring weather here…perfect warm days with nights that still have just a bit of a chill! I started working on a mini version of Joanna’s “Country Fair” quilt that I shared last week. With the blocks finished it should go together quickly!
I also got the chance to sew another quilt with the Farm House collection. This one is for a book being published by some friends, so I won’t be able to share for awhile…but it was super fun to see the whole collection together before I started sewing…
It’s always hard to unwrap a bundle, but when I’m sewing for someone else it’s a little easier! There are some great light/low volume fabrics in this collection…
I had some good scraps and will be able to incorporate them into my American Patchwork & Quilting “Go Four It” quilt!
First up on the agenda this week is to turn these into a quilt…
and add these finished Grandmother’s Flower Garden blocks to my collection.
I’m making plans now for future blog posts and am hoping you might leave a comment on today’s post if you have input/ideas on the following questions…thanks so much…I would really appreciate it!
- What do you want to see more of here on A Quilting Life?
- Would you be interested in a “Block of the Week” quilt along quilt (free patterns) or would “Block of the Month” be a better time frame?
- Are there any techniques you would like to see tutorials for?
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Maybe a block every two weeks or a fortnight as we say in Australia would be great. New shortcuts are aleays welcome

I would like to see Block of month or a quilt along. I am not a new quilter, but ready to learn new techniques.

I would LOVE a block of the week or two weeks. Every month doesn't seem to come around often enough. I really enjoy seeing your beautiful work though so all of your posts inspire me!
By the way, is there going to be a Schnibbles for this month or did I miss it?

Love your blog and get many ideas here…would like to see display of your many quilts—think Block of Month is good—and review of the many rulers and templates as I forget how to use some of these.
Thanks Sherri for lots of great bloggy stuff ;)))

A block of the week or month would be wonderful. I always love to see how other people sew the same thing I am.

I can't wait to see your finished quilts; I think pinwheel-style blocks are my favorite right now. Well, aside from Lamoyne Stars, that is. 🙂
I would love to work a Block-Of-The-Something with you! I have a growing stash of fat quarters that are begging to be made into something beautiful!

I love reading your blog and look forward to each post! I would like a block of the month. I would enjoy a tutorial on rulers–your log cabin ruler, flying geese ruler, etc. I would also benefit from a post/tutorial on the perfect half square triangle. Thanks for all you do""

I like the sew along idea. Not sure if I'll have time every week, maybe once a month would be good.

I am just crazy about those bright grandmother's flower garden. That is not a favorite pattern of mind, but I just love it in the brights! I'd love a sew along. Maybe scrappy? Every two weeks does seem good. I need some inspiration to get something done!

I am in agreement with others–a Block of the Month would be great. A block a week was tried earlier this year and I'm very behind. Of course, it depends on the pattern chosen and how many blocks to sew each week. Tips are always helpful and I've enjoyed your previous blog posts with a tip.

I would love a block every 2-4 weeks. Love what you do.

I'm always curious about how to cut the fabric. Let's say you just need a small piece from a FQ do you just cut this piece and be done or do you cut let's say a strip subcut what you need and then add the leftover to your scrap bin? I somehow always end up with some strangly cut FQs and would really love a tip here:-)
And a block-along with you would be lot of fun! I might even use some treasured B&C and Fig Tree fabrics for that:-)

I would love a block of the week or month but every two weeks would be perfect. Just enough time to get a block completed without rushing or being bored between blocks. Rina

I would love a monthly block of the month! Had such a good time with the Bloggers Girls of the month. Did it in Strawberry Fields by Joanna & adore it. Actually got 3 others to do it with me in my Monday night group. Love how Monique did 2 versions of the same block-it confounded everyone~so love your blog; have followed it for years. Susan

I love how much sewing you got done over the weekend. So fun! As for content, I always love everything you post. I always love seeing "behind the scenes" or process photos not just for your quilting work, but the blogging/business side of it too (as I have so much to learn still!)

I'm a fairly new follower and have loved your prolific posts. Man you sure are a fast quilter! Would love to know the "how" of your seemingly easy, quick piecing. I would love a BOM or a block every two weeks. Until I learn how to accomplish more, I just need to be able to keep up. 😉

Love your blog and I always see great ideas and techniques featured :). For me, a "block of the month" fits better, but only because I don't think I would find the time to sew a block every week.

I hosted a block of the week on a group I belong to. It was really hard to keep up with. We ended up changing to a block every other week and that worked out better. We did 6" blocks too, so they went together quicker.

I really enjoy your posts as they always have a little bit of everything, sneak peeks, new fabric lines, cool projects. Maybe a Fig Tree monthly project cause you seem to use their fabrics a lot and I love everything Fig Tree 🙂

I've always loved seeing your mini quilts or 'schnibbles'. Would love to have a sew along with them. (Especially maybe using scraps for projects).
Always enjoy seeing what you are up to. You have such pretty quilts.

I would love a block every two weeks the best. But I'll do a weekly or monthly. A month always seems like such a long time to wait for a block.
I would also like to see how you put fabrics together from different collections, or from your stash. Or ways to build a good stash. I seem to have too many odds and ends in mine. Thanks for all of this!! Kay

We've never met but I enjoy having you as a quilting friend. 🙂 When quilt shop hopping, (which we all love to do) is it better to buy a few fabrics you love, or something like a later cake? Do you only buy fabric with a pattern already chosen or just because you love it. How do you keep from buying so much fabric that doesn't really go together?
