Happy Wednesday, and Happy July! I heard someone say yesterday that once July arrives, summer is over. I certainly hope for cooler temperatures, but I have a lot of summer sewing still to do!
Today is parade day, and I have some wonderful versions of my Summer Star Mini quilt to share!
Anna begins our parade with her large version…she used charm pack square instead of mini charms! It’s gorgeous!
Beatrice made this lovely version and created a pillow with it.
Brenda made this fun version with a “confetti” background.
Carol Fun made this delightful chicken-themed quilt!
I love Carol’s Sweetwater version (we have two Carols participating).
Cathy’s version looks beautiful on this stand.
Dawn made two…she made this one earlier this year and finished it as a pillow…
and she has also just recently made this bright version.
Emma’s sweet version is all in red and white…
And Gail made this beautiful version.
I love Izzy’s blue and green ocean version!
And Jody also made a pillow, adding an extra border.
I love Judith’s version–she used Aloha girl as I did for my original quilt! If you sent me your photo and don’t see your quilt here, please check Michele’s blog: Island Life Quilts. I sent over some of my photos so our parades would be more even…seems we may have to divide the alphabet differently next time!
Even if your quilt is here, please visit Michele to see the other half of the parade today.
Okay…now…for next month we are using Corey’s pattern, “Sweetness” which offers you three choices…pick any one! Send your photos to Michele or I by July 31st! Can’t wait to see your choices!
Finally…we are trying to stay a little ahead, and if you would like to get started on the August project (for the September 1st parade), we are going to do a Christmas in August theme and use Joanna’s Mini Juniper pattern. We thought that would help all of us to have one decoration/gift ready for Christmas.
Okay…I think that’s all for today! Thanks so much for stopping by! I’ll be back on Friday with the next block in the mini Sampler series!

Summer Star: How can you make half square triangles from 2.5 inch squares and make them match up with 2 inch squares? Math doesn't work. Disappointed in this pattern & sorry I bought it!
Sherri says
The half square triangles are trimmed to 2″ so they are perfect. I have a tutorial on this in my video page.
Happy Quilting!
