Summer Sky Fat Quarter Quilt

Hello, friends and happy Friday! Today I’m sharing my final new-pattern release for our Emma fabric collection by Sherri & Chelsi for Moda Fabrics. The Summer Sky Fat Quarter Quilt is a large block quilt that goes together quickly and easily (I made mine in a weekend). There is also another color option for this quilt that uses a Layer Cake for the center stars and yardage for the contrast outer pieces. Finally, I’ve filmed a short video so that you can get an up-close look at the quilt and the beautiful quilting.

Summer Sky Fat Quarter Quilt

The Summer Sky quilt finishes at 80″ x 80″. As I mentioned above, my version went together very quickly. I used triangle paper for all of the half-square triangles, and because of the way the blocks are put together I was able to do a lot of chain piecing. Layer Cake Stars Option

The second version of the Summer Sky quilt pattern is the same size but features the option to use a Layer Cake for the center stars and yardage of the dark and light greys for the outer units. This would be a fun option to use for a holiday -themed version as well.

My Summer Sky-Inspired Pillow

I made my test block for this quilt pattern just a bit smaller (I sized the hst’s down 1″ from the pattern), and decided it made a wonderful pillow. Just one block from the Summer Sky quilt would also make a great wall hanging!
