Hello! I’m pretty excited to share a new pattern with you today…”Sugar Pine Stars” which is a fun, fat quarter friendly quilt in two sizes! I made my cover quilt in reds and greens, but this pattern is perfect for any color combination or for scraps!
I used both an ivory print and some low-volume backgrounds to give this a
decidedly vintage feel, and I love that I was able to use so many different fabrics! You’ll notice that some of the stars are pieced with a solid center, while other stars are pieced with four-patch centers…I love them both!
Simple strip piecing makes this a beginner friendly pattern and helps any quilter save time while putting it together…
I’m absolutely in love with the nested cable quilting pattern my friend Marion did for this quilt…I definitely want to use this pattern again!
And this might be my favorite star block…I love gingham and polka dots and floral prints!
The pattern includes instructions for the lap size version which measures 48 ½″ x 62″ and the full size version which measures 75 ½″ x 89″.
Michele from Island Life Quilts did the pattern testing for me on this one, and she made the lap-size version with Bonnie & Camille fabrics…I love her quilt!
I just love her mix of fabrics and prints and the scrappy red chain blocks! Thank you so much, Michele!
Sugar Pine Stars is available in my Etsy shop now in a paper version and as a PDF pattern. I have it priced at just $7 through the end of this week.
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Love this pattern, Sherri. Chain Blocks used to scare me till I made the Crossroads quilt – now I love how it draws the eye to the blocks in between. Thank you for your sale – can't wait to sew this!

Sherri, I've subscribed to your blog for several years, but ever since I got a new email & try to subscribe to it again, I get a message that says "Feedburner can't find my subscription". Can you tell me what I am doing wrong as I miss your updates?
