Happy Happy Thursday! Today is definitely a happy happy day because the fourth block in the Splendid Sampler series is called “Happy Happy!”
I had so much fun picking out fabrics for all of the circles for this block…it really
was like planting a little flower garden…and flowers are the best! Jen Kingwell designed this fun block
I haven’t worked with circles this small in quite some time, so I pulled out my Karen Kay Buckley’s Perfect Circles
templates (I keep mine on an easy-open key ring so I won’t lose them. These templates are terrific, and you can iron over them. I found two circle templates that perfectly matched the circle sizes on the pattern. You can watch my video tutorial on how to use a circle template to make terrific circles for applique’.
I did my back-stitching with a limey-green Aurifloss and used two strands. I thought the color was a fun contrast to my flowers and the vase.
I’m in love with each of these blocks. But Happy Happy is my favorite right now! You can find the pattern here.
