Happy Tuesday! I can hardly believe it’s been nearly two months since I began writing the Quilt Your Stash posts! Today I have a couple of fun ideas for quilting with your stash…
Recently I posted about a new quilt along, The Splendid Sampler, hosted by
my friends Pat Sloan and Jane Davidson. This weekend I finally had a chance to catch up on my blocks (this quilt along just started last week, so now is the perfect time to jump in if you haven’t already).
I hadn’t started because I hadn’t yet decided what fabrics I was going to use. I finally decided to use Fig Tree scraps since I have so many (no matter how much I use them it seems they mysteriously multiply)!
So…I’m challenging you to use your stash for this quilt along!
The first block was a simple patchwork with an easy to applique heart…this one was designed by Pat Sloan (find the pattern here).
Block two, designed by Jane Davidson, was a fun block with low volume or light prints mixed with darker prints. There is some embroidery you can add to make the dark print sections into individual butterflies (find the PDF pattern here).
Block three by Melissa Corry was so much fun. I loved making the smaller hearts along with the larger focus heart (find the pattern here)! Be sure to visit Melissa’s blog for instructions for making these hearts in a variety of other sizes, too!
The next block will be available on Thursday…it’s a super fun one that I’m starting tonight!
This is really going to be a terrific quilt along with great block patterns and extras along the way…it’s a perfect way to quilt your stash this year!
Thanks so much for stopping by!

I still haven't decide which fabrics I should use: I'm playing witht the idea of a red and white quilt and the heart blocks would be perfect for it … on the other side I love your Fig Tree blocks and I have a lot of Fig Tree scraps, too. Mmmh, perhaps I decide after the next bloxk is released.

The heart block is so sweet! I am saving my scraps to hopefully have enough to get started on some kind of quilt soon.
I've been helping a friend make prayer quilts for people in the community who are sick or just needing some extra prayers.

I haven't started my blocks yet, but I think I've decided to use American Jane fabrics. Time to start planning my blocks…and to start sewing!

That's exactly what I'm trying to do. Just use my stash for the splendid sampler. My mom is new to quilting and is also participating so I thght I would too so we could compare notes
