Happy Friday! Today I have a few favorites to share with you…
I’ve been working on a few projects with Little Ruby which is a new fabric
collection that will be available later this spring. I’ve also been working with Vintage Picnic for a few projects and will be able to share a new quilt pattern with that collection very soon!
I was working on the binding last night and just had to snap this picture with my phone!
The Omnigrid 4-6-12-Inch Marking Ruler Trio is one of my favorite quilting tools. These rulers are exactly one half inch wide and come in three different lengths–4″, 6″, and 12″. I use them when making half-square triangles to mark lines. Instead of marking a line down the center of the fabric and sewing ¼″ on either side of that line, I will line up the center line on these rulers with opposite corners and draw the two stitching lines. It is so much more accurate than any other way I’ve tried. I demonstrated this technique in my half-square triangle tutorial but haven’t been able to find the original rulers I used. So I was happy to find these so I could share the technique.
If you are looking for fun spreadsheets to track your works in progress, projects to make, or even your fabric stash (that sheet isn’t pictured) you can download these tracking sheets from Stately Type for a small fee. Then you can print them over and over as needed.
Finally…I had to share some very happy mail from last week. A little while ago I sent out some scraps from our upcoming Valley collection and was very excited and surprised to receive three wonderful presents in return.
Mindy Home, a regular blog reader made this cute pouch, a pattern holder, and a zipper bag with lots of pockets inside for paper piecing.
She even filled the binder with page protector sheets so I can fill it with patterns! Thank you Mindy!

Very helpful blog. I love the download. I also do my half square triangles like you do with the rulers. They are the best. I still want to meet you some time when I am in Overton.

I can resist adding to my Bonnie and Camile stash! I will try that trick with the rulers, I do have them. Thanks for the tip.

I have this same set of rulers, and I agree with you that they are great. I also like to use them to mark those diagonal lines for stitching. I use them all the time with making some of the new small mini quilts, with pieces that are much smaller. Just love them!

Really love Mindy's gifts and looks like a great new line of fabrics….can't wait to see up close. Just from the binding picture I think that project line is going to be a new "go to" line for me. I will have to make sure I get my hands on some…:)))
