Hello and Happy Monday! As you can see I’ve been making more Moda Bella solids blocks and having a lot of fun! I appreciate all the input from this post and this post–and I’ve decided to have a solids along parade. I’ll post the links to block directions along with the color combinations I’ve used twice a month–on the 15th and 25th. Feel free to make one block or all three using your favorite solids. We’ll have a parade of solids projects this summer. You won’t be required to use all the blocks in your project to participate in the parade and can make a pillow, table runner, or quilt for your entry. I think it will be a lot of fun, and there will definitely be some prizes for the participants!
Here are the blocks I made for today…I used just 4 colors this week–Pistachio (9900 134), Pink (9900 120), Lemon (9900 131), and Clementine (9900 209).
This is block 2 by Minick & Simpson (block instructions found here). Have I mentioned I love flying geese?
And this is the Fig Tree block (instructions found here).
And the last block for today is Mary Jane’s block (instructions here).
I’ll also give direct links to the first three blocks I shared. Starting in the top left is Aneela’s block (found here), then one of the bonus blocks (instructions here), and finally Julie Comstock’s block (found here).
I hope you’ll join in for the solids along…it will be so much fun to see a parade of solids sampler projects!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
PS I’m blogging over at Moda’s Cutting Table blog today where Pat Sloan is visiting to talk about some of her favorite Bella solids!

I am not used to seeing you work with solids Sherri! But I do recognise the beautiful bright colours and the perfect piecing x

I'm really enjoying the color combinations of your solid blocks Sherri. Is anything planned for the white centers? They remind me of the old blocks that were used for signatures!

Wow, they look great! You have a fantastic eye for colour.

I really like this idea, Sherri. When you first mentioned the possibility of a solids block quilt-a-long, I knew it'd be something I'd enjoy. I immediately went to FQS and purchased a FQ Bundle(s) color combo that I thought I'd use for this project. Thank you for the block links today.

These are really cool! Thank you for taking the time to PDF these blocks. You are so sweet to do that. I have some solids pieces and charm pack solids but not enough of a variety. What a great excuse to buy more fabric. Thank you.

I love how these blocks are looking. I've never used just solids for blocks, but I like yours. Thanks for sharing.
