Well, I’m back with the trunk show…can I just say again how wonderful it was sewing with Carrie?! Really…if you ever get a chance to take a class with her, you must! The trunk show was inspiring as well. The first quilt is “Nice Day,” pieced by Lissa Alexander, yes…Moda Lissa! This quilt was absolutely stunning…I really wish I’d taken a good close up of it as Lissa’s piecing is without flaw. I actually took about four pictures of this one to make sure I had one that would turn out!
And this beautiful quilt is “Imagine” pieced by Darlene…of Quilting Daze! This also was an absolutely beautiful quilt.
And the cover quilt, “X-Rated–” one I’m definitely going to have to make soon in both the large and small versions…this design just says “happy!”
This is the small quilt version of “Imagine”…some of the smaller quilts were passed around for closer viewing…I loved seeing the beauty of the piecing and the gorgeous quilting up close!
“Scratch” was also gorgeous…several ladies in the class chose to work on this quilt…and it’s also on my “to do list”!
And “Hot Cross” in the original version…love these fabrics and this design!
This is the larger (layer cake) version of “McGuffey.” It was pieced by Lisa D…yes, of Stashmaster fame! Lisa also made the most gorgeous layer cake version of “Short Story–” you’ll want to copy it to the letter–it’s that gorgeous. You can find it on Lisa’s blog and in the book! Another blogger who had a quilt in the book is Nicole from Sister’s Choice who made the layer cake version of Bennington; this quilt is the first project in the book and is absolutely gorgeous.
And here is Carrie with the original Schnibbles “McGuffey.”
The Simple Abundance “Open Season” was another show-stopper…actually, I’ve never met a Simple Abundance quilt I didn’t like…and I have to make a large version of “Open Season,” too!
When “McGuffey” came by I had to take a close up…
I loved the smaller version of “Open Season” too…Carrie has wonderful quilters who do the long-arm portion of her quilts, and it was wonderful to get close-ups of their work too!
“Three Barns” was another quilt Carrie brought along…it’s not in the new book…but is another one you just fall in love with.
And this is “Good Tidings,” a Christmas quilt Carrie designed that was featured in Australian Homespun…another one to add to my list! There really were so many more…I took as many pictures as I could as fast as I could and still didn’t catch everything. We also had a student “show and tell” which Carrie shared on her blog. If you haven’t already seen her post, you’ll have to go see…she shares a lot of the beautiful work done by the other students in the class! It was a lot of fun…there sure were some amazing quilters in our group!
And this last picture…a package that came in the mail today from “The One Who Isn’t Rosie.” I wasn’t able to finish my “Plan C” last weekend because I really wanted to add some Park Avenue in the outer border and had used my only charm pack in the body of the quilt. The “One Who Isn’t Rosie” graciously sent me her one and only charm pack of the Park Avenue so I can finish up! Not only that, she sent along charm packs of both new French General lines, Rural Jardin and Lumiere de Noel (I’m sure I’ll be using both of these charm packs in my next small Schnibble) as well as her favorite Presencia thread for me to try. Thanks so much Carrie!

They are all so beautiful!! I have to say that I love Three Barns the best though. I think it is the intricacy of the pattern.

Such a treat to see all those quilts in person. The Nice Day is so beautiful but so is Imagine and all the others. I don't think I'm going to have an easy time deciding what to make when I get my book. I'll be sewing on overdrive. Thanks for taking us along for the ride.
