Hello and happy Saturday! And, happy Worldwide Quilting Day–we should all make sure we get just a little bit (or a lot) of quilting in today. Thank you so much for stopping by for my Saturday Seven Inspiration for Quilters 68 post. On Saturdays I share things from around the web that are of interest to quilters and those who read my blog. This week I found lots of good things…enjoy!
2. Sewing is Good for the Soul
I loved this article which shares how sewing can calm and heal us. As quilters, we are well aware of this through experience (think of the motto “quilting is my therapy”). The article was a lovely one to read–find “The Calming Effects of Sewing Can Help People Express and Heal Themselves” here.
3. Good Things in the Kitchen
I’m going to be making these Banana Muffins this week…and these Tres Leches Cakes (and Cupcakes) are the perfect spring-time dessert (spring is only a week away–on the calendar)!
4. Organization Tips and Tricks
I’m always trying to get more organized in the kitchen since I feel like if I have that part of my life organized I’ll have more time to sew. So I loved this article on “How to Organize the Refrigerator for Meal Prep for the Week Ahead.” I also loved this article on “One Minute House Chores” with a printable with 30 chores you can do in a minute or less. If you’ve been trying to apply the “Just Three Things” concept for quilting I wrote about in this post, then you’ll find this list helpful!
5. Free Quilt Pattern
In honor of Worldwide Quilting Day today, Fat Quarter Shop is sharing a free pattern in two different sizes and sponsoring a contest for quiltmakers who make one of the two quilt designs. Find the link to the free pattern and get all of the details about this contest here.
6. Sew Your Stash
This week I took a little break from my Sew Your Stash tips series in order to share all of the new Harper’s Garden fabrics and quilts. But I’ll be back next week with a new tip post gleaned from my cleaning session in the sewing room yesterday 🙂 Find the previous Sew Your Stash quilting tips posts here.
7. Quilt As You Go Pillow
I love this sweet and simple patchwork pillow…I have a good amount of Harper’s Garden scraps already and might have to make this with some of them. Find the tutorial for the Quilt As You Go Pillow here.
Happy Weekend…
I hope you enjoyed this Saturday Seven Inspiration for Quilters 68 post. You can find all of the previous posts in this series here. I hope you have a wonderful day and weekend…and that you get to do some quilting to celebrate. I’ll be back on Monday to begin sharing three more quilts using our Harper’s Garden fabrics. Thanks so much for stopping by!
Happy quilting!
