Hello and happy Saturday! Welcome to the Saturday Seven 90 post with inspiration for quilters. It’s kind of a milestone for me that I’ve written this series for ninety straight weeks. But I love it and hope you do as well! If you’re new here, my Saturday Seven posts are a smorgasbord of fun things for quilters: find patterns, notions, recipes, good reads and more!
1. Simplify, Simplify
I also loved this article which has so many great ideas for living a more simple life. Also, this checklist of 15 minute decluttering projects is a good one.
2. Back to School
The students in our community went back to school this week. And while I don’t have any children at home attending school (our youngest is away at college), I still feel the need to up my organization game with the beginning of a new school year. If you like to organize at this time of year, here is a terrific post with a round up of all kinds of back to school organizing tips.
3. Quilts and Quilting
I loved this post on Red and White and other two color quilts. When I share a trunk show I begin with the story of my great great grandmother who learned to sew as a girl and who loved to quilt. So I was excited to read this post on quilting histories. And even more thoughts on the topic in this post. How about you? If you are the first quilter in your family or one of a long line of quilters, you have a quilting history. It can be a fun thing to share and document.
4. Fabulous Fall
Fall is my favorite season (especially when it’s 115 outside). I always try to wait to decorate after Labor Day, but it’s going to be hard this year. I can hardly wait for the cooler weather. Here is a fun post with 15 Fun and Easy Fall DIY Projects. And you can see some of my favorite quilted fall projects in this post.
5. Good Eats
This Grilled Greek Chicken Salad looks so refreshing (we’ve been having temps 110+ all week). And this Sweet and Savory Coconut Rice make a perfect side dish for so many summer meals. Finally…I’m going to try this All Purpose BBQ Sweet Rub soon.
6. Something to Think About
I loved this article with terrific ideas on retraining ourselves to stop mindlessly doing things we don’t want to do…so many interesting thoughts and ideas here.
7. And…This Week on the Blog
- The introduction of Summer Sweet…our fabric collection showing to shops now and shipping in January.
- A new pattern release: Gelato…a fat eighth medallion quilt pattern.
- And another new pattern release: Beach Day…a Jelly Roll and Charm Pack quilt pattern (more new patterns coming next week).
If you’re looking for more Saturday Seven inspiration, you can find all of the previous posts in this series here. And I’ll be back with more new patterns beginning on Monday. Happy quilting, and thanks so much for stopping by!

I love your posts and eagerly await each one. So many interesting things in this one. I love that your quilting history goes back a bit, I am the first quilter in my family apart from an aunt. Now my sister has started. I am hoping the next generation will take it up too.
