Hello, friends! Today I’m sharing the Saturday Seven 433: Lifestyle & More for Quilters with a variety of things I’ve found from around the internet this week. I hope you’ll find some inspiration for your weekend and the week ahead. Plus, this week’s post has important information on my upcoming session of A Quilting Life Academy and a fall 2026 quilt retreat where I will be teaching!
At home I’m working on trying to finish up another sample quilt for our collection release later this spring! After I finish, I’ll have just one sample left to make plus some fun extra items for decorating! I’m also doing a bit of cleaning as I usually do on the weekends, lol! We’re going to have warm temperatures as well, so I may putter a bit outside.

Saturday Seven 433: Lifestyle & More for Quilters
1. Self-Care
I’m a believer in practicing gratitude as a form of self-care, and this article had lots of great thoughts and ideas on being more grateful. And here are 8 Self-Care Practices that are easy to incorporate into your daily schedule.
2. Recipes to Try
I absolutely can’t wait to try this Black Bean Confetti Salad–I’ll let you know next week how it was! And here is a fun roundup of Fresh Salads with a Pop of Fruit (a lot of good ones to try here as well). Finally, I love a good Homemade Sloppy Joe (perfect to eat with a great salad, don’t you think?)!

3. Quilt & Sew
I’m happy to share a new Mug Rug pattern in the shop now with two different options–Tulip & Rose Mug Rugs (pictured above). I recently pieced these with a mix of Raspberry Summer, Strawberry Lemonade, and Poinsettia & Pear fabrics. PDF copies are available now, and paper patterns will ship in about 10 days.
4. Book & Podcast Recommendations
This week my friend Kristen released a new episode of her Simple. Handmade. Everyday. podcast. She shares an update on her experience at QuiltCon and a lot of book and show recommendations. I also enjoyed the Best Laid Plans podcast with decluttering expert Dana K. White.
5. A Quilting Life Academy
If you’ve been wanting to join in for my Quilting Life Academy online quilting course, then now is the time to sign up! I’m starting another session on Monday, March 23rd, 2026. My last session was in July, and I’m super excited to be holding a new session. Find all of the details and sign-up information at the link below, and please reach out to me if you have any additional questions.

i love all the things you do and am excited you are offering another retreat. i wasn’t able to watch todays video that came out in todays email because after sitting through at least 2 minutes of commercials, the video started and literally less than 20 seconds later more commercials came on. I realize you are doing it for the income, but It makes your videos difficult to watch. They’re too chopped up, especially when there’s more commercial than video.

Hmmm I didn’t have a video in today’s email. The videos here on the website are more ad-filled than on our YouTube channel. You can watch everything on YouTube for a cleaner ad experience. Thanks so much! And yes, it’s very costly to maintain a website and protect it from everything out there these days 🙂

Sherri, I really enjoyed your post today. I’m always interested in new quilting ideas, but this time, the self-care recommendations are especially good. The concepts that we can 1) learn to be more grateful and 2) take care of ourselves without guilt shouldn’t be revolutionary, but in today’s world (sadly), they are. Courtney Carver is a hero of mine; I did her Project 333 closet reset years ago and still use those principles today. Thank you for sharing!!!

Thank you! I’ve been thinking of doing the Project 333 as well!
