Hello, friends! Happy Saturday! Today I’m sharing the Saturday Seven 332: Lifestyle & More for Quilters with links to the inspiration I’ve found from around the internet this week. I hope you’ll be inspired and that your weekend and your week is off to a wonderful start! I’m planning on a good amount of time spent in my sewing room this weekend with a couple of walks outdoors in our beautiful spring weather.
Saturday Seven 332: Lifestyle & More for Quilters
1. Self-Care
First…this 51 Simple Pleasures list is so good! I also loved this post on ideas to “Cultivate a Positive Mindset.” I’ve been continuing to journal and plan, and honestly feel like that is some of the best self-care I do on a regular basis.
2. Recipes to Try
This Honey Mustard Chicken Bowl recipe looks like a great weeknight dinner option. I also want to try this Creamy Chicken and Mushroom Soup before the weather gets warm. And I’m trying out this Overnight Breakfast Berry Bake this weekend! Finally, this New York Crumb Cake is also on my list to try.
3. Quilt & Sew
I recently started a new scrap quilt using my 2019 HST Block of the Month. You can sew along and grab the free block layouts here each week or you can get the pattern file in my shop. (The pattern has been updated and is now available in booklet form for the first time ever). I’ve got it on sale in paper and PDF through the weekend with patterns shipping in about a week. Also, release two of the Moonbeams Charity Quilt Along was just shared–find the free PDF pattern for this month’s blocks here.
4. Book & Podcast Recommendations
A friend recommended this book to me, and I’m loving all of the ideas for introducing “hygge” into our homes. I’m just a few chapters in but so far it’s been a relaxing and enjoyable read. I also enjoyed Cal Newport’s recent podcast: A Tactical Assault on Busyness and came away with some good ideas to subtract some hectic-ness from my days.
5. Spring Cleaning
First, I’m mixing up some of this DIY Natural Sink Scrub and am thinking it might end up being my neighbor gift for next Christmas (there is a cute printable label you can print off from the post, too). I thought this article on curating your wardrobe was very interesting. I’m definitely going to think about this as I do some spring cleaning in my closet. And this post has lots of ideas for doing some spring cleaning in every area of your home.
6. Personal Favorites
I just tried this Body Scrub and am in love! The smell is so good, and it really made my skin feel incredibly soft! Another favorite is this Dry-Touch Oil Mist –I use it before lotion and love that it makes my lotion last longer. It’s lightly scented and so refreshing in our dry climate. I’ve also been loving this tote! It’s big enough to hold my planner and all of my essentials, but not too big!
7. Recently on the Blog

Ha! I had just been through a stack of patterns and pulled out your 2019 half square triangles BOM, with the idea it would be fun to use up the abundant leftovers from a quilt top I just finished, plus I love the yellow border on you original quilt! So I’m looking forward to see what others are doing! I’ll use 2 inch finished units, as I also have a lot of the papers leftover also. And love 8 inch blocks!
Now to figure out what.to do with the tiny hst units that were waste cuttings from another top!
Also printed out a lot if recipes today, Smitten Kitchen is a site I’ll visit again for meal ideas. Thanks for all the inspirationsA
