Hello, friends! Today I’m sharing the Saturday Seven 313: Lifestyle & More for Quilters post. I hope you’ll find some wonderful ideas for your weekend and the week ahead in this round-up post of inspiration I’ve found from around the web this week. (I’ve also got a free Christmas Decor’ Printable to share with you on this post). I’m in full-scale Christmas decorating mode this weekend, with a little bit of sewing for good measure! I hope you are able to have some time to do the things you love. And please enjoy this week’s round-up of ideas.
Saturday Seven 313: Lifestyle & More for Quilters
1. Self Care
A social media holiday detox might be just what you need–find ideas and tips here. And this post and podcast has lots of ideas for getting all of the different types of rest you need.
2. Recipes to Try
I’m going to try these Air Fryer Meatballs and hope to make and freeze some for upcoming holiday gatherings. How about a Pizza Quesadilla for a quick bite on a busy day! I’m going to try this Christmas bread recipe to see if it will work for neighbor gifts this year. Finally, how cute are these Melted Snowman Cookies?!
3. Quilt & Sew
Fat Quarter Shop is sharing their Black Friday sale through today with 20% off sitewide. Go here to shop their sale. And EQ is having a month-long Black Friday sale with 25% off all software, add-ons, books, and printables here. Here is a free pattern for a beautiful star quilt that would be super easy to make adjustments to as needed. Also there is a pieced border that you could definitely leave off–but it’s gorgeous if you want a little challenge. Finally, here is a darling Christmas Table Runner pattern. It’s free! And while there is a cat in front of one of the gifts, you could easily make the runner without the cat, too!
4. Book & Podcast Recommendations
I enjoyed Sarah’s podcast on Meal Planning this week. (Meal planning is the best way for me to get extra sewing time)! And I loved the idea of keeping meal plan lists in your notes on your phone so that you can easily look back and copy the menu plan from a past week. I’m also really loving this book that I bought and started reading earlier this week on vacation!
5. Christmas Decor Printable
I’ve got a free Holiday/Christmas Decor printable for you today. It’s perfect for keeping track of all of your current pieces and the ones you want to make for next year. Click the button below to get the PDF delivered directly to your inbox!
6. Favorite Things Shopping List
I know you’ve been inundated with shopping guides this week, so here are just a few of my absolute favorites:
- I have two of these wooden cookbook stands–one in the kitchen and one in my office to hold my planner.
- I just bought this art print for quilters and sewists for myself–it makes a perfect gift for you or a favorite quilter!
- I bought this layering piece in all four colors–winter wardrobe done! I just add a cardigan when I need more warmth. It was reasonably priced and is good quality (true to size–buy your regular size).
- My favorite cardigan is this one (pricey, but a wardrobe staple you’ll have for years to come). Size one size down for this one!
- Cozy Earth is a regular podcast sponsor and is now having a terrific sale. Go here to shop. (Some things are currently on sale for 40% off–but you can get 35% off using the code AQUILTINGLIFE for anything not on sale).
- And finally…the gift of an experience. Here are 99 ideas for experience-based gifts.
