Happy Saturday friends! It’s the first weekend in October, and I’m going to finish up my fall decorating (among other things) this afternoon. Last evening I planted some fall flowers, and it was so wonderful to feel just a hint of a cool breeze…I believe our crazy high temperatures might be gone until 2021…here’s hoping. I’ve got some fun sewing projects planned for the weekend as well including binding three quilts. Please enjoy some internet inspiration for your week in this Saturday Seven 149 Inspiration for Quilters post. And can you believe next week will be the 150th Saturday Seven? I might have to have a giveaway…
Saturday Seven 149
1. Feed Your Spirit
I loved this post about building relaxation into the structure of our days–find it here. And I also loved this article on “How to Wait Well.” I also really loved these “Three Writing Prompts for a More Intentional Life.”
2. Recipes to Try
These Skillet Sweet Potato Black Bean Burrito Bowls look like a terrific fall meal. And I think I’m going to have to try this Chocolate Éclair Cake…it has to be good with a name like that, right?! Finally, these Homemade Glazed Donuts are also on my list to try!
3. Quilt & Sew
Here is a cute pumpkin block, pillow, and table runner tutorial. I might have to make a white pumpkin pillow after seeing Amy’s! And if you’re looking for a fast and fun fall pumpkin quilt…my pattern in the 2021 American Patchwork & Quilting Calendar is sure to be a good choice (photo above). (Watch for a calendar giveaway next Saturday). And don’t forget about the Sewcialites weekly block sew along going on now. Block 2 was released yesterday here. (I’m going to get going on this sew along soon…my block is coming up in a couple of weeks)!
4. September Sew Sampler
This month’s Fat Quarter Shop Sew Sampler had some fun surprises, including 6 fat quarters of our Balboa fabrics! Sign ups are full right now, but spots open up regularly. Go here to get on the waiting list…or find the September box contents here:
- Petite Balboa Fat Quarter Bundle…yay (to my knowledge these are the only Balboa fabrics available now)!
- A Jumbo Project Bag pattern designed by me (exclusive to the Sew Sampler Boxes)
- Sewing Life Tea Towel by Gingiber
- 7″ x 7″ Silicone Appli Fuse Mat (perfect small size for ironing small applique’ projects with no mess).
- Sew Mate Quilt Clips (to help with keeping projects rolled up while quilting on your home machine).
- Greatest Hits Album Block #6
5. Bookshelf
I just started this book and am finding so many good ideas in it. After 2020, it seemed to be my best choice for an end-of-the-year read! And I’m loving this book for organization and décor inspiration.
6. Fall is my Favorite Season
Here are some cute DIY Fabric Pumpkins. Here is a fun list of Halloween Writing Prompts for kids. And I love the fall inspiration in this post…bonus…there is a quick tutorial for a fun fall sign if you have a Cricut machine.
7. Last Week on the Blog
- A Quilting Life Planner Update
- Moda Block Heads 3 Block 38
- Labor of Love Sampler Sew Along Block 1
- Quilting Life October 2020 Block of the Month
