Yesterday I had fun making some adorable 4-patch blocks for Lori’s “Row Along” quilt project! I had so much fun playing with my Marmalade scraps for this project!
Lori has a super easy method for making these 4-patches…you start out with 3″ squares and end up with squares that will finish at 1″! And you don’t have to ever work with 1″ segments which helps to keep your pieces straight and even.
My first row in the row along is finished…in two weeks Lori will post instructions for row 2!
The beginning of this week was busy, but I was able to start sashing the Farmer’s Wife blocks…I’m definitely glad I’m using this setting for this quilt! I just love the extra open space this setting provides.
I started with a small group of blocks to be set each way…it’s so fun revisiting these blocks again as I work with them again!
I worked on straight set blocks and on-point blocks…love them all!
And…yesterday I received the most amazing patterns…Carrie has done it again…she has a new line of designs created with Moda Candy…those cute packs of 2 ½″ squares!
I want to make every one of these quilts…and all of the pincushions too! You can find out more about these patterns today on Carrie’s blog and enter a giveaway to win set of these patterns here!
And finally…on a completely non-sewing/quilting note…I have to mention this little book, One Line a Day: A Five-Year Memory Book
which I first saw on Camille’s blog. My personal journaling has lagged a little since I spend quite a bit of time writing this blog, but I really wanted a way to record more every day things. This little book is the perfect solution…I usually just jot down a sentence or two about things going on and already have had fun looking back!
Thanks so much for stopping by…hope you have a wonderful day!

Someday others will enjoy your Memory book. My Grandma had a couple of them. The 5 year book had short entries. Weather, who visited & the best were "Grandpa went fishing today-no fish"(that's not what he told us)! Have fun making memories.

I love your progress on your rowing! I missed seeing that row along! I really love seeing the sashing on your FW blocks. I wasn't a big fan of samplers… but after seeing the FW journey of yours and other bloggers… I sure am now!

I'm doing the roll along also. Have my squares cut and will sew them this afternoon or evening. Have linen to wash and floors to clean.

I love those little candy packs to pieces and Carrie's Little Bites are just gorgeous.
Your first row is gorgeous melorgious so it is. And your FW blocks are to die for. I must stop procrastinating and get cutting and sewing.

Wow can't believe you've already finished your rows! I thought it was genius how she showed us how to make them, I cringed when she said 1" squares! May have to use my stash of Bonnie & Camille fabric since I don't have Marmalade yet 🙂 Oh, and love the new "bites"! Wonder if we'll get them if we're in the FQ Rosie Club?

Seriously you are so productive! I saw the new patterns and mmmmmmmm, I need to spend less time online and more time sewing. I gave my daughter that book the day before she got married. She is a journaler so she was thrilled with it.

I absolutely love seeing your FW blocks with the sashing. I have only just begun on it and now it inspires me when I see yours. Just lovely
As for the Journal. My dear mil left one, (several actually) and they were a wonderful gift for us. I hope to begin one as well.
cheers

These blocks are so sweet! What fun projects!!

Loving those bright and happy fabrics …
And the journal essentially reminds me of my 5-year diary in HS. There was only room for one line a day.
Thanks,
Mary
