September…can’t believe it, but since it’s officially here it is time for a Schnibbles parade! I had a ton of fun making next month’s quilt, “Speck!” Carrie told me it would go together in just a few hours, and she was right. In fact, when I was finished I wanted to keep making more of these adorable blocks! I used The Ladies Stitching Club collection by Oliver + S for Moda. Since I just had a charm pack with no yardage, I used some of the polka dot I had in my stash from an earlier Oliver + S collection, Cape Ann–they coordinated beautifully!
“Speck” is from the new collection of “Little Bites” patterns recently released by Carrie. You can read more about them on her blog. Carrie is also having a sale on the new “Little Bites” patterns this weekend…for a 10% discount on a paper version “Little Bites” pattern enter the code: Paper10. For a 10% discount on a PDF “Little Bites” pattern enter the code: PDF10–sale good through Monday night at midnight (you can find Carrie’s shop here).
If you look at the pattern, too, you’ll notice that you have two options for this little quilt, the “x” version like I made or the “o” version. I definitely want to make the “o” version also. The best part about these quilts is they are made from 2 ½″ squares of fabric. So you can use the new Moda Candy–packages of pre-cut 2 ½″ squares…or you can use up scraps for these fun quilts!
The “Little Bites” collection of patterns finish up in smaller sizes, too (mine is 20″ x 24″) so September’s project should go quickly…which will give you some time to get started on your October quilt…
And…we thought we’d announce the October quilt today…either Bounce or Hubble! Since these are both larger quilts, Sinta and I decided having the extra time to get started would be a bonus. So “Speck” for the October first parade and “Bounce” or “Hubble” for November 1st! Whew…that was a long introduction to our parade for “Dimestore”…so here we go!
