Happy Wednesday quilty works in progress day! Do you ever have a hard time deciding on a project after finishing up something big? I always have a list of things I want to do, but after finishing up the king-sized Nested Churn Dash last week I had a hard time deciding “what next?” For me, the best thing is to just start sewing. I trimmed up some half-square triangles. I made a binding for a quilt arriving home soon. And then I just started to play.
I decided to make a “Jumping Jacks” block just for fun since there was a quilt-along for this quilt starting on Instagram. The pattern is Jumping Jacks by Fig Tree & Company.
After making one block I decided I’m definitely going to make the entire quilt. I have two more blocks ready to sew. I’m using Fig Tree fabrics from a variety of different collections.
I’ve also been wanting to make Camille’s Mini Raincheck quilt. This is a free download pattern available from her sidebar. So I pulled my background and umbrella fabrics and have this ready to go. Maybe it will rain here if I make an umbrella quilt!
I’m also working on mini 9-patch blocks. I’m not sure what these are for, but they sure are fun to make.
And I finished up the last two of my Bee Blocks for my quilt bee…guess it’s time to get ready for a new year of Bee Blocks.
Thanks so much for stopping by…I hope you have something fun to work on today!

You get so much sewing done in such a short time, how do you do it? I got my new FQ Style book from the FQS Monday. I picked a FQ bundle from my stash & got the pieces cut and all 20 blocks made today. That was a lot of sewing…but I loved it! Your blocks are always awesome! Thanks for sharing your projects here, gives me incentive!

All your new quilts look great!

The blocks are adorable. After big projects I typically make something small and quick to give myself a little break. Then it is on to the next big one.

Wow, I wish I accomplished that much! I love those Union Jack blocks – I would love to make one someday. I have a jellyroll of the April Showers collections, but I haven't decided what to make it into yet…
