Happy Wednesday! It’s a “Works in Progress” kind of day today…here is just a bit of what I’m working on this week. First of all my scrappy “Nested Churn Dash” quilt arrived home from Texas…quilted beautifully in an all-over design by Maggi Honeyman.
With such a busy quilt I don’t think custom quilting would have really stood out, so an all-over pattern seemed the perfect fit.
I sewed the binding on by machine the night the quilt arrived home…now I just need to do the hand-stitching! I went with a stripe on navy from Grant Park not only because it seemed to frame the quilt beautifully, but also because my only other option without buying any new fabric was to make a scrappy binding.
I’m also trying to finish up my Jumping Jacks (pattern by Fig Tree & Co.) quilt before school starts next week. I worked on three blocks, chain piecing as much as possible.
The color combinations are soft and dreamy…a little more muted than my choices for the first three blocks I made.
But I really love how they all play together so well!
I’m half-way there! My next step will be to pick fabrics for the next two or three blocks.
Oh, and remember my “Around the World” post…three of my quilting/blogging friends now have their posts up…you can click on the links below to read all about them and their sources of inspiration.
Finally…congrats to the winner of the Fort Worth Fabric Studio bundle giveaway…Mary on Lake Pulaski…I’ll be emailing shortly!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
Oh…and I linked up this post with WIP Wednesday today over at Freshly Pieced!

The quilting on your nested churn is absolutely perfect! You are correct in that it enhances and not compete with the fabby. Yes, your Jumping Jacks play very well together!!

These are all so fab! So far I've only made a mini with the nested churn, but wow, your whole quilt is wonderful! Ditto for the Union Jacks 🙂
