Hello and happy Thursday! Today I’m sharing a fun Fat Quarter Shop simple pin cushion project I filmed with them back in March of 2016. I had a lot of fun filming this tutorial and was super excited when they emailed to let me know they were re-posting it! So today I’m sharing my Pretty Pincushion Tutorial & Remix! I even made two new versions the other day using our upcoming Walkabout collection fabrics.
It’s always fun picking out fabrics for little projects! I love that you can use the tiniest of scraps and make something so beautiful and so very useful! I picked out some of my favorite Walkabout prints and got to sewing. They really do go together quickly! Both of the ribbons I used for embellishment were actually on the top of my cutting table, too.
It’s been so much fun for me to see all of the new versions Fat Quarter Shop is sharing today! (I won’t share them all, so you’ll have some more eye candy to look at on their post). But I will share a few…
This stack is by Kristin Esser of Simple. Handmade. Everyday. I love that this simple little pincushion is just so fun in every combination!
And this is also a fun stack of pretty little pincushions! I just love them!
And here is another fun stack! I love them all!
If you haven’t seen the tutorial yet, you can visit my original post here to watch the video. And then you can visit the Jolly Jabber blog to see even more versions of my little pincushion!

And then…if you love pincushions…you are going to need to go out right away and get this book. Pin Pals: 40 Patchwork Pinnies, Poppets, and Pincushions with Pizzazz is an absolutely amazing new release by Carrie Nelson of Moda Fabrics with 40 different pin cushion patterns. I was lucky to receive a copy just the other day, and I’ve already pieced the top of my first project. It’s one of the cover pin cushions…can anyone guess which one? Actually, the next one I’m going to make is on the cover as well! This book is fabulous. It has tons of great information with tips galore; when you read, it absolutely feels like Carrie is sitting in the room walking you through each step. I’ll be posting more about this book soon (including sharing my first finish), but I couldn’t wait any longer to let you know about it. I’m seriously going to sit down and read it cover to cover tonight.
I hope you enjoyed the Pretty Pincushion Tutorial & Remix. You just can’t have too many pincushions! Happy quilting, and thanks so much for stopping by!

Love your cute pincushions and Carrie’s book is on my list. I guess you made the star one or the houses t least these would be the ones I would probably make first.

Houses pincushion is my vote. The book is super cute! You could use the patterns to make miniquilts. I love the little Trip Around the World and the Bear Paw blocks. Thanks for sharing!
