Hello and happy Monday! Today I’m excited to review a pattern for my good friend Kaitlyn. Kaitlyn is an amazing seamstress, and I’m happy she is designing patterns now. She has helped me do market sewing for all three of our collections with Moda–sewing accessories and even piecing quilts with Bright Sun and Valley!
Kaitlyn’s first pattern is called Olivia’s Baskets, and its a fun fabric basket
pattern available in three sizes. The baskets pictured are the small and the medium sizes which are 7″ and 9″ (and the large size is a roomy 12″).
The baskets use Soft & Stable which gives them a lot of stability. Quilting the lining fabric also adds a good deal of stability to the baskets.
I love that you can roll the cuffs down or keep them upright for extra storage. And they are cute either way!
The inside of the basket is completely finished and the interior binding at the bottom finishes off the baskets beautifully!
The outside on the bottom has a smooth finish…these are really so professional and yet so easy!
The quilting took me the longest amount of time. I think if I were going to make a lot I would have someone long arm quilt my fabric so I could just start sewing.
There are so many ways to use these, too. They are perfect for the nursery, for diapers and for storing children’s toys. I’m actually going to use them in my closet for fun storage…why use a boring plastic box if you can use a cute fabric basket!
Kait has the patterns available now here. And, she is having a Cyber Monday sale: use the discount code CYBERMONDAY for 20% off of this pattern. You can also read her blog Knot and Thread here.
Thanks so much for stopping by!

beautiful job on those baskets Sherri, and I love that the lining is quilted, but the outer fabric isn't. It adds such a nice detail. Hugs, H

What beautiful baskets! I love that the inside is quilted too and that you can roll the cuff down on them. Your desert bloom fabric looks stunning in these baskets.

Thanks for the review!! Would you say it would be easy for someone who has never made a fabric basket before? I've done lots of quilts and one handbag…
