Yesterday I made my first fabric-covered button. I tried to show several members of the family; they were mildly impressed. I, on the other hand, was thrilled–I immediately wanted to keep covering more buttons with fun fabrics! Such a simple little process…but what great results! I’m definitely going to stock up on the parts and pieces to cover buttons of all sizes.
I know I shared this bag before, but now that it has a matching fabric-covered button it is really complete!

I tried my hand at covering some button with some needlepunch. They turned out pretty cute. I made pins out of them. The bag is lovely and the quilts are too. I especially like the one with the red birds on it.
Happy Thanksgivng.

Making covered button is lots of fun! My dad had an upholstery shope for years and I worked for him for awhile. One of my jobs was making the buttons for the furniture that had buttons in it. Of course he had this machine with a handle you pull down to make each covered button, but it was still just as fun as the small gadgets we use at home! I made tons of covered buttons while I worked there. It is lots more fun to make them from our quilting and sewing fabric cause you can cut out certain designs to show up on the front of the button. Keep having fun!
Have a Blessed Day,
Diane

You ought to be so proud of yourself for doing the covered button. I have always been fascinated by it, but never was daring enough to try!
Your Christmas quilt is fabulous, same goes for your other projects that you have shown.

I was always afraid to make covered buttons and once I started I couldn’t stop. I have a big jar from ikea full of all different sizes of buttons – covered – on my shelf. They are so pretty!
