Happy Saturday! Today I’m excited to share a gorgeous version of my Hope Chest pattern…and share a little bit about how this quilt came to be! I’m also excited to share another new pattern, Oceanside.
I was originally going to release two of my new patterns early…before market…but then my market fabric arrived a little earlier than expected. I wasn’t sure how I was going to get it all done and asked Michele of Island Life Quilts if she might be interested in doing some pattern testing…
When Michele first told me she was going to make Hope Chest in Sweetwater’s Elementary collection I was really excited. This pattern is probably my favorite right now (in fact, I’m getting ready to make a scrappy Christmas version), and I just knew it would be a lot of fun with Sweetwater fabrics!
I just absolutely love how it turned out! The black fabric for the sashing and inner border is just perfect…and the aqua cornerstones really set off the blocks!
Michele sent the most gorgeous photos of her quilt…I had to use them all!
I love my Valley version of this quilt (shown on the pattern cover below), but I also love seeing other versions!
The other pattern I asked Michele to test was my Oceanside pattern. My orignial quilt is designed with Aria by Kate Spain for Moda fabrics…and is super fun for that collection. Michele chose a more traditional collection for her quilt…and hers is just as lovely.
She used Collections for a Cause…and I love how the pattern looks beautiful in these very classic prints.
Again…every photo Michele sent was beautiful, so I had to share them all. Thank you Michele!
I think Oceanside would also be a lot of fun in a scrappy mix or in a Christmas version as well.
Since Oceanside is a brand new release, and since my paper patterns for the new market quilts have finally arrived, I’m offering 30% off in my Etsy shop through Monday evening. Just use the code “happyfall”. You can use the discount code for paper or PDF versions of the patterns and for fabric.
Thanks so much for stopping by…and have a great weekend!

They are both beautiful quilts and I will be taking advantage of your discount. Paper are my favorite patterns. I didn't see any new fabric line though! Looking forward to that next time!

Lovely quilts! I really like seeing quilts in more than one collection of prints. BTW, I was shop hopping in Ohio Amish Country yesterday and today, and I got compliments on my hexagon tote everywhere I went. I told everyone it was your design and that they could find the pattern in A Quilting Life. Hope that helped sell a few books. 🙂

Beautiful, I just love Elementary fabric, my all time favorite fabric! I have a FQ in my sewing room that I have taken out just to look at, I know I need to make something with it…hmmmm…..maybe Hope Chest. Love how Michele's looks. Thanks for sharing.

Just ordered Hope Chest pattern. Both are so pretty, but Hope Chest looks like one I could actually complete this weekend while my husband is at hunting camp. 🙂
