Today is the day! I’m excited to be able
to share my three new patterns. They were so much fun to make, and I
love the designs and fabrics in each one. I can also picture these
patterns in a lot of other fabric combinations, so don’t be surprised If I
remake them very soon!
First up is “Happy Friday” which is a fast and fun Jelly Roll quilt. I used an upcoming Moda collection, Beach House, by new Moda designer Kate Nelligan for this quilt. I used a strip piecing method for the blocks which saves a lot of time.
This is a great summer quilt and really works well with these fun beach fabrics, but I can picture it in Christmas fabrics, Halloween fabrics, and even Americana fabrics for summer. And of course it will be perfect for your favorite every day collection too!
If you have it cut out and have a free day…it’s a “quilt in a day” kind of project and is perfect for a beginner quilter.
Next up is a Layer Cake quilt, “Pot Luck.” I used a new Sweetwater collection for Moda, Feed Company, for this quilt. This is the perfect pattern for showcasing those layer cake squares you just can’t bear to cut up! Directions are provided for two Dresden Plate applique’s, but they are optional and can be substituted with two more fun layer cake squares…the choice is up to you!
This is another fast project…and it will work well with left over fat quarters, too.
I have to admit that the Dresden’s were a last-minute addition to my quilt, but I love that extra touch they add.
This is another quilt pattern that would be perfect for your favorite Christmas collection, Halloween collection, or Americana fabric.
And (last but not least) my other new pattern is “Boardwalk” which was pieced using Paradiso, Kate Spain’s upcoming collection for Moda. This quilt showcases the brilliant florals and geometric prints in the collection which remind me of the vibrant flowers peeking out from picket fences along my favorite boardwalk in California.
The star blocks are easy to put together in the square in a square setting…and this quilt can also be pieced with a Layer Cake along with extra fabric for the sashing, contrast block background, border and binding.
It would be a lot of fun to see this quilt in Christmas or Americana fabrics, too!
Well…so there they are! I sure had fun designing and sewing these new quilts…I’m hoping you like them too!
PDF patterns are available for instant download now in my Etsy shop, and paper patterns will ship after market (by November 5). Right now and through the weekend you can purchase PDF or paper for just $7 each.
Thanks so much for stopping by!

You had me at "feed company". This quilt is just amazing and I can't wait to make it. I am running over to get the pattern now and will hang onto it until I can make it with the same fabric. Thank you for sharing your creativity.

Great patterns Sherri! I love Potluck. Can you believe I've never made a dresden block? I think I need to make a Christmas Potluck quilt just so I can try my hand at a dresden block without having to commit to a whole quilt full of dresdens 🙂
