Hello, friends! It’s Wednesday, and the first day of a new sew along. I’m so happy to finally be able to share my Moda Blockheads 7 Block 1: Spring Walk by Vanessa Goertzen of Lella Boutique along with all of the details for this terrific event. I’ve participated as a Blockheads designer since round 2, and it’s something that I always say yes to when given the opportunity. This round there will be 30 free blocks in a great variety of sizes. Moda will also have a king-size finishing option that I’m going to make. Of course, you are free to sew along and choose your own setting or use a setting shared by someone else. The options are really going to be endless! Keep reading for all of the details.

Moda Blockheads 7 Block 1: Spring Walk
Block 1 Details
I’ve decided to sew along with our Coastal Breeze collection as the starting point and also add in bits and pieces of fabrics from other Sherri & Chelsi collections. I love all of the block designs and the Moda setting and just can’t wait to get going on this project. Fabrics from our Coastal Breeze collection create week’s block along with the tone-on-tone fabric from Delightfully Yours for background.
I cut and sewed everything as directed in this week’s pattern but also used the Doug Leko Mini Simple Folded Corners Ruler for the easy corner units.

Blockheads 7 Sew Along Resources
Each week I’ll link all of the blog posts for the sew along so that you can always go back from the current week’s post/page and find anything you are looking for. So, if you happen to miss out on a week, don’t worry as I’ll have everything linked here!

Next Week’s Block
Be sure to stop by next Wednesday to see the next block and download the next free PDF pattern. My block is coming up the week after that, and I’m going to have something fun to share with you for that…stay tuned!

Just a Few More Thoughts…
I’m so grateful to Moda for presenting these Blockheads Sew Along projects. A lot of time and effort goes into making these sewing “events” the best possible experience for those sewing along. Free patterns are always wonderful, but to also be able to have all of the support resources like video tutorials and extra project patterns just shows how Moda goes the extra mile in all that they do for their customers. I hope you’ll join in and enjoy the fun!
Happy quilting!
