Hello and happy September! Fall is my favorite season, so the arrival of September is always a good thing! I don’t think I’ve ever been more ready for fall than I am this year–we had the hottest summer on record, and I’m hoping things really start to cool down soon!
Today is Minis and More day, and this month we have some especially fun
project ideas to share. Our pattern for the month was the Mini Handmade pattern by Camille Roskelley, and if you haven’t made it yet you’re going to want to after seeing all of the versions for our parade.
The first photo (above) was sent in by Hildy who made two versions of this month’s patterns…a lovely pillow with a dark background, and the wall hanging version with the embroidery. I love them both, Hildy!
Karen had a terrific idea and used her blocks to make a table runner…she even kept the embroidery feature of the pattern. Now I want to make a table runner version, too!
And Brenda’s is absolutely beautiful…she used the Calico Days collection by Lori Holt for Riley Blake and added in some of Brenda Riddle’s Ambleside collection.
But that’s not all…there is another quilt you’re definitely going to want to see over on Michele’s blog…come right back, though, to read about next month’s project and prizes!
We’re hoping to get a lot of participation next month…so we thought a fun and free fall project would be perfect! So…yesterday’s Scrappy Fall Placemats will be our project.
You can make placemats…or you can alter the pattern and make a table runner, table topper, or pillow…we look forward to seeing what you come up with!
We’ve also been quietly sending out some little prizes to someone each month…last month’s winner was Mary of Needled Mom. I sent her a charm pack and some mini charms of Bright Sun and Desert Bloom!
Hope you enjoyed the parade, and really hope you’ll participate next month! Simply send a photo of your project to me or Michele by September 30th, and we’ll include your photo (email your photo to me if your first name begins with A-K, and email Michele if your first name begins with L-Z).
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Beautiful Mini Handmade Quilts – each one is special! Your new fall placemat kept playing in my mind so much, that I stayed up late and just cut and cut and cut :)! I kept thinking of people that might like one or two…..! You had me at the little leaf blocks – they really add to the whole placemat. Really looking forward to fall – we too have had a very hot summer!

Hope to make some mini placemats for our rv soon. Thanks for the inspiration. I love all you do for this quilting community and your videos with FQS. I hope you have a nice fall. You are very close to Vegas and it is hot there!

Such beauties!!! Love them all. I wish I had thought of the table runner-but I can still do it because I have enough. Scrap fabric. Loved this pattern.

Those are darling minis this month. I like the idea of using the design for a table runner.
Looking forward to the fall project this month.
