Happy March! Really…I can’t believe it’s March already…spring is definitely just around the corner here in the northern hemisphere! It’s been very spring-like here already with temperatures in the 80’s the past few days!
Today I have some fun versions of the Thimbleblossoms Mini Clambake quilt to
share for parade day. I sure loved making my version of this quilt this month, and now I definitely want to make the full size version. This is one of those projects where you can really have a lot of fun and learn quite a bit about contrast and fabric placement. I quilted it with my go-to wavy lines and used the new Vintage Picnic polka dot fabric for my binding (I have some extra yardage of the polka dot in my Etsy shop).
Okay…so first up is Brenda’s quilt…you can read about her Mini Clambake including the quilting here. The first thing I noticed (after the cute fabrics) was the quilting she used. I think it’s just perfect!
Hildy’s Mini Clambake is also perfect…I love the way she played with the colors in her quilt…perfect lower border and such a fun binding too. Hildy says she may make another of these fun little projects!
Finally, Karen used ultra bright colors which gives such a fun look to this quilt…I also love her choice of lower border and binding. These were all such fun quilts. Michele has more versions on her blog, Island Life Quilts…be sure to stop by and see them today!
Finally…Michele and I thought it would be fun to do a bigger quilt for our next project…and we will be giving everyone 2 months to finish up. So our next parade will be May 1st. We’ve decided to make “Village” which is a super cute house quilt by Carrie Nelson of Miss Rosie’s Quilt Co. Isn’t it a fun quilt…I love the fact that it’s also one of those patterns perfect for using up your scraps!
I found my copy of the pattern here. I hope you’ll join with us in making this quilt over the next two months!
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Gorgeous minis everyone! I love the wavy quilting on yours Sherri, it really suits this pattern. Was inspired by your Quilt Your Stash series & have been tidying my sewing area & getting WIPs organised. I really love sewing in my nice clear space, what a difference! Thank you for all of your helpful posts & inspiration. I am really enjoying the series and look forward to learning more from you. Kelly

I spotted that Village quilt over on Cupcakes 'n Daisies a while back. This might be the kick in the pants that gets me to start it instead of just ogling it!

Oh my goodness I just ordered this pattern yesterday. I had not even read your blog yet but someone must have because one of the shops I get emails from had it included. I love the Miss Rosie patterns and had decided to order it.

Hi! I am currently working on this pattern and I am finding my squares don't quite have the rounded look to them… I am wondering if any of you ran into this problem or have any suggestions about lining things up so they look better!
Thanks!
