Hello! Happy Wednesday! Today I thought I’d share a really fun idea for a scrap quilt project you can use to quilt your stash this year!
I’m always on the lookout for great scrap projects, and when I saw this
wonderful post by Anne Marie of Gen X Quilters I knew I had to share it on my blog. Anne Marie has been making scrappy Granny Square blocks using her stash. Such a fun idea! You can find a great tutorial for the Granny Square block using 2 ½″ strips on the Moda Bakeshop. These blocks finish at about 8 ½″ square. You can also use this tutorial if you want to use 2 ½″ squares for your blocks.
Anne Marie made large and small blocks, and her quilt is going to be amazing!
Thanks so much for stopping by!

What a wonderful way to use up scraps! Love the way she used two different sizes for the same blocks. An easy way to really bust into the scrap basket!!!

Great way to use scraps! I plan to use some for the Village pattern.

What I love about this scrappy quilt is that it's pretty controlled–I like the wild ones, too, but it's not often you see one where it *looks* planned, but uses up scraps. Fun post!
Hope you are surviving your semester–

A great way to use up scraps but also some of the "uglies" from jelly rolls. I have a big basket of those and I think this might be the answer to make short work of those strips!
