Hello and happy Wednesday! I’m excited to share what I’ve been working on today because I have a very fun finish to show you! Today I’m happy to introduce you to Maple Sky, my newest pattern!
I pieced Maple Sky to capture the essence of fall. I wanted leaves going in all
different directions–as you might find them scattered on the ground. I used my favorite fall colors: reds, browns, greens, plums, oranges, and butterscotch and also used a fun mix of low volume backgrounds to add even more interest. This is my favorite fall quilt ever!
While the majority of the fabrics are by Fig Tree, I also used some Minick & Simpson (they always have wonderful backgrounds), some Anne Sutton fabric, and some Moda Muslin Mates. I added a light border so my scrappy binding would show up, too!
What is even better is that this is a fat quarter friendly quilt…everything but the sashing and border can be cut from fat quarters, making it scrap and stash friendly (you can even use fat eighths to add even more fabrics and variety to your quilt). The finished quilt measures 61 ½″ x 75 ½″.
While I pieced most of my leaf blocks from the same fabrics, I have a couple that are scrappy–just for fun!
It’s been so hard not to share this one with you while I’ve been working on it the last couple of weeks…it’s my favorite right now!
I had so much fun naming this one, too! I love it when a fun pattern name comes easily to me!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
