Hello and happy Friday! It’s time for a giveaway! Today’s giveaway will be a Fat Quarter bundle of the new Wing & Leaf collection by Gina Martin for Moda! Clint and Judy of Green Fairy Quilts will be sending this lovely bundle to one of my readers!
I’ve seen gorgeous photos of this fabric on all sorts of social media lately, and
it’s definitely a collection you won’t want to miss! This collection has a good variety of whimsical prints, blenders, and floral designs that are just plain fun!
If you haven’t shopped at Green Fairy Quilts before, you’ll love their shop! If you have shopped there before, you know they are best known for their wonderful selection of pre-cuts; however, they also carry yardage, notions and patterns! Clint and Judy live just about an hour away from me, and I’ve been lucky enough to get to know them over the past several years; they are just wonderful people!
For one entry please leave a comment on this post mentioning something you’d like me to blog about.
For a second entry, head over to Green Fairy Quilts and sign up for their newsletter…then come back here and leave a second comment letting me know you’ve signed up!
I’ll keep the giveaway open through Monday, September 12th, 2016.
That’s all for today…have a wonderful weekend! Good luck to everyone, and thanks so much for stopping by!

What do you do with blocks that don't work, or those that you practice quilting patterns, or fabrics in bundles that don't " speak" to you
nanaofnc says
Just started following you on Bloglovin! In quilting, my biggest challenge is choosing fabrics that go together and would love some help with ideas. Thx!
Quiltbirdie says
I would like you to write a blog about blogging! Some people say blogs are "old school," like flip phones and desktop computers! Apparently there are fewer blog readers around, but since I still love to read blogs, I don't really get it. What's been your experience and can you really make money from ads on your blog?
Cheryl Erdner says
Love your blog and my biggest challenge is putting fabrics together. I try to be too matchy and boring. I would love to read how you put colors together for a quilt.

I'd love to hear about your process when you set out to create a pattern. Do you use a design program, sketch it out, or just start cutting and playing with fabric? Do you make the quilt, then figure out the cut list, or decide the block, make a cut list and then work from there?
Thank you for the opportunity to win some of your beautiful fabric!

I'm a devoted GFQ follower, though it's a dangerous site for me!! A hot topic for me is still color, choosing and using it in a quilt. There's been a lot written about color theory, but not enough about a quilter's actual thought process. For example, does the colorway come first and then a pattern? Choosing which fabric goes where in a block, and why. Thanks for asking what we'd like to see in your blog.
Marlene says
I would like to read about tips for quilting with your domestic machine.

Thanks for this chance and have a great sewing-filled weekend!!

I love all your blogs because you always sound so cheerful! I am always amazed at how much sewing you get done. You are simply amazing. Besides being a professor and a Mormon which means you are serving as a volunteer in a joyful way, you still sew a tremendous amount.
It would be interesting to find out how much quilters donate to various charities. One of the reasons I like to shop at Green Fairy Quilts is because it is so easy to donate to their charity. It makes me feel so good to think I am helping orphans in Eastern Europe. I feel that if I can buy high quality quilting materials, I should donate to others who barely have food to eat and clothing to wear.
I know quilters are always giving away quilts, but how much else are they donating? They have gigantic hearts. I think it comes from being creative and using right brains and such.
wenhkc says
I would love to read your design process. do you design after pulling fabrics? Or do you design first and seek out fabrics? How do you decide on color, placement, shape? How do you decide on technique….pieced, fussy cutting, appliqué, etc.?

Hello – I love your blog. I watch and rewatch the binding tutorial – it finally made sense to me when you said (and I paraphrase) you make the width of the binding the amount you leave as tail to join – TaDa!!! I would like you to, if possible, talk about how one goes about figuring yardage into precuts and precuts into yardage when planning for a quilt featured in pattern or book that does not provide both in fabric-required section. Many thanks!

Love these fabrics and would love to win. How do you deal with the one fabric in a bundle you buy that you just can't figure out how to use? I've spent 3 years pulling this orphan 2 yards out and just cannot find anything to pair with it. It is flat out ugly to me. What do you do.
Helen L says

I just signed up for your blog and am loven it. You ideas help a newbee with every activity. I find the matching up colors and cutting out the quilt goes so much faster than finding the time to set down and put them together.
