Little Ruby Quilt Along | Table Runner

Hello! Today is the big reveal day for the Little Ruby Quilt Along sponsored by Fat Quarter Shop. And I’m excited to show you my finished project!

I really loved learning to use new to me rulers in making these blocks (the
 Creative Grids Hexagon Trim Tool and the Creative Grids Double Strip Ruler). I’ll definitely use both rulers again and again. I realized after making about five blocks that I didn’t have near enough scraps to make the entire quilt, but I was in love with the fabrics I was using and didn’t want to start over.  So…I made a table runner!
 

I used bits and pieces of all of the greys for the binding…and I love how it sets off the edges with just the right amount of contrast.

I used the Little Ruby dots on apple green for my backing…it matched pretty well with the greens in the Sundrops collection.

I also love the quilting pattern my friend Gail used on the quilt…flowers and leaves…just like the fabric on the front!

I sure love this table runner…and I do have enough scraps to make some matching place mats…I’m trying to think of a fun design for them that will really utilize the little pieces I have left over.
