It’s always a good day when a block of the month kit arrives–I usually try to piece my block right away so I don’t get behind. Block 9 of the Fat Quarter Shop Mystery Designer Block of the Month was in my mailbox Saturday morning, and by Saturday afternoon I had pieced this adorable house block.
I’m adding sashing and setting my blocks together as I go this time. There are just three more blocks…I believe they are all supposed to be flower blocks–I can’t wait to see them.
I really do love everything about this quilt…including the border and backing which I have ready to go as well.
Another little finish this weekend was an “S” mini-quilt which has been on my list for quite some time. If you’re interested in some free alphabet letter patterns, be sure to follow the Moda Designer’s Blog Hop, Spell it with Fabric, going on now. All of the designers are taking turns sharing alphabet letter patterns made with jelly roll strips and fat eighths. They are also sharing their unique versions of the alphabet quilt!
I love decorating with my mini quilts in my sewing room. I moved a few around to make new for my recent finishes. I now have my Mini Swoon and Mini Spools above my design board (which is right above my sewing machine).
And my mini “S”, Mini Dwell and Mini Puddle Jumping are happily housed above the window.
Thanks so much for stopping by…have a wonderful day!

I'm waiting for my Block 9 to arrive. Your quilt is looking great with the sashings. I still haven't had time to open up the finishing kit but I'm hoping to get a start on them too.

So cute!!! Is that a butterfly quilt there on the left? I am getting ready to replaster the wall opposite my sewing table in my sewing room and I am planning to have the whole wall covered with mini quilts! I still have a huge stash of doll quilt kits from Material Obession from a few years ago to finish up, and of course the boat quilt will be the star. I love your small quilting project, I am so sorry that I missed it while it was free! It's adorable. I am curious how you hang them, too — do you use hanging pockets/sleeves or just pin them up? ~Angela~
