Hello, friends! Today I’m happy to be officially sharing my new Laguna Stars Layer Cake Quilt. I’ve been sharing pictures of two different versions of this one on the blog but haven’t yet shared all of the details on this one.

Laguna Stars Layer Cake Quilt
Quilt Details
The Laguna Stars pattern contains directions to make a 45″ x 54 ½″ lap quilt. However, you can easily make more blocks for a larger quilt. Also, the four-block version above makes a wonderful table topper! This pattern is beginner friendly and is perfect for a Layer Cake or fat eighths or scraps!
My friend Nancy Lane pieced both of these versions, and they were both quilted by my friend Marion Bott. Marion used an all-over design called Fixed Flowers on the larger version and the Petal Tiles design on the Christmas topper version. I had so much fun binding them. The lap version is pieced in a variety of prints from Strawberry Lemonade, Laguna Sunrise, and Raspberry Summer. The four-block topper is pieced using our Favorite Things collection from a couple of years ago.
Laguna Stars Video
Watch the video for this quilt above or watch it on our YouTube channel. You’ll be able to see both quilts up close in the video!
Thanks so much for stopping by for today’s Laguna Stars Layer Cake Quilt post. It’s always fun to share a new project with you.
Happy quilting!

What are the quilting patterns?
Susan Anderton says
Yes, Sherri, I agree that the quilting patterns are beautiful and they compliment your quilt design really well. You mentioned that you would share the quilting patterns that Marion used, but they don’t appear in the “description below”. 😉
