Kim Kight over at True Up has been giving great recaps of the new lines introduced by various fabric companies and designers. One of her Moda posts showed Joanna Figueroa’s booth and had some amazing close-up photographs of the quilts and accessories. The picture above shows “Jelly Parfait” in the Breakfast at Tiffany’s version that I was grateful to be able to piece for Joanna. It was really fun to see this picture and especially to see the stunning quilting up close!
Seeing the photo above motivated to finish up my own version (sorry about the wrinkles…I should have ironed my quilt before taking these photos). My quilt uses three Fig Tree lines: Mill House Inn, Fresh Cottons, and Breakfast at Tiffany’s. (I think my quilt is about half Mill House Inn, and then about one fourth each of the other two lines). I really love how the Fig Tree fabrics all coordinate so well–Nicole has been posting about this recently too. After auditioning several fabrics I decided to use the sashing and border fabric used in the Fresh Cottons version of this quilt.
It was fun today putting each row together…there are just so many fabrics in this quilt that I love…the blues and browns in Breakfast at Tiffany’s just might be my favorites right now. And the large red floral print from Mill House Inn…glad that is in here too! And this pattern…really…it’s wonderful…you can use a single jelly roll (and you’ll have left over strips at that) to make all of the diamond blocks, or you can use 2 ½″ strips from your stash. I also loved the construction of these blocks and this quilt…it went together really well, and I’d only worked with diamonds on a small project once before.
Hope you have a wonderful day…and that you are inspired to sew soon!

They're both beautiful Sherri! I love how these fabrics go together but don't really look like they GO together, you know? Not too matchy-matchy. Just purty. 😉

Sherri your version is absolutely beautiful…I love that you used the different lines and all the same setting triangles. You're going to have to convince me though that the diamonds aren't hard to sew. LOL! You get so much done…must be something in the air or the water where you live…you are amazing!

Sherri! Thanks so much for sharing the close-up shot of Jelly Parfait, the quilting IS amazing, in the setting triangles and in each one of those diamonds..WOW.
Your color choices for your Jelly Parfait are perfect, wonderful job, beautiful finish.
Your blog got me buying and trying some Fig Tree fabric for this first time, I'm working on Laundry Baskets right now.

I guess I never realized that you don't get to see the finished quilt once it's quilted. Jelly Parfait really turned out stunning.

What a great post. The quilts are beautiful. I've never worked with that line before, it has a special feel to it. Can't wait to see yours finished. Great job.

Love that quilt! I love how the Fig Tree lines go together so well also. I've been collecting some – Got a lot of Mill House, some Fresh Cottons, Fig & Plum, and Patisserie. And I'm currently working on Cameos with Whimsy, which I'll add the scraps to the rest. I will have lots of Fig Tree quilts when I'm done!
Magnolia Bay Quilts says
Love both of the quilts, but I really love when you're able to mix and match fabric lines. I think it makes the quilt look more interesting, but still somewhat coordinated. Your piecing is beautiful!

It is beautiful! I've always been a little apprehensive about triangles. The colors are so pretty. I love how you used the cream and let the big triangles stand out. Also love that pop of blue every once in a while. Great job!

Beautiful! Love those fabrics too. Glad to hear the pattern isn't too difficult. It looks a little intimidating, but it sure is lovely!

No less than absolutely stunning. You're incredible. Look how that machine quilting really enhances the piecing. That is magic.
