After finishing up a couple of big projects last week I was ready for some relaxing sewing over the weekend. Just as I was going to take pictures I realized my camera battery needed charging, so these pictures from Instagram will have to do for today. First I made some 4-patch blocks using some of my Fig Tree Moda Candy packs. Sometimes just sewing a simple block is exactly the kind of sewing I’m looking for. And with these 4-patches there was that instant gratification, too.The top row blocks are made with Tapestry, and the bottom row blocks were sewn with Avalon. I’ve actually completed two projects with these little 4-patch blocks and will show them soon.
I also made two more blocks for my On a Whim quilt using Anna Maria Horner fabrics. I’ve got 12 blocks finished now with just 8 more to go–and I have 4 of those cut and ready to sew.
On Sunday morning we finally received some much needed rain…it was so nice to have the temperatures drop and have cloudy skies for the day. Our yard needs some definite TLC after the long hot summer, but this rain certainly helped!
And to finish up the weekend I got to do a little binding on my Hopscotch quilt. I used the pre-made Moda Bella solid bias binding and absolutely love how easy it was to stitch. The edge has such a nice crisp clean finish that makes the hand stitching very easy.
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Cute four patches, can't wait to see your projects with these.
I've not tried the moda binding yet but would love to. Looks like it would be easy to use.
