House blocks have always been one of my favorite blocks. So when my Fat Quarter Shop 2013 Designer Mystery Block arrived last Saturday I had to make it. This block was so much fun–it was probably the most simple and fun block yet!
I loved last month’s house block too. One more and I’ll have another row finished up. I’m adding the sashing as I go so the quilt will be ready to finish when the last block arrives!
I’ve been wanting to make the house blocks above for quite some time now, too. This is the adorable house quilt, “Dwell” from Camille’s book:
Simply Retro with Camille Roskelley: Fresh Quilts from Classic Blocks.
I can’t wait to start making more houses!
What is your favorite block? Just curious…
Thanks so much for stopping by!

I am sad to say house blocks are not my favorite blocks, I truly live for stars! I love simple Ohio Stars and even sawtooths!
I was so surprised to see so many house blocks in the club this year. I haven't started assembling the rows yet but I think I'll start once I get the new house made. I did assemble as you go last year and was so happy at the end just to add the borders….better get cracking!

Very Pretty Sherri! And asking a quilter to pick their favorite block, is a bit like asking a mother to pick her favorite child. I have way too many favorites to pick LOL!!!

Funny. I was ready to post and thought I would see what tbe others had to say and was surprised to see that I am among many quilters that choose the star block for my favorite, I do love house blocks as well and so loved the different versions of Carries "full house" that I have done, but I do have to say that "star" blocks just grab me every time I see them. Very cute houses you have there!

Love your house blocks! There is a lovely simple charm about any block with a house in it, but my favourite block pattern is a Churn Dash, dressed up or plain…it wins my vote every time.

I love the house blocks too. I'm still waiting for my block to arrive (hopefully in the next day or so). That's a great idea putting the sashing on as you go. When I get a chance, I'm going to start preparing mine.
