On Friday our family had the chance to head up to the mountains of central Utah and spend a few relaxing days at a cabin. It was the perfect weekend getaway. I spent a little time swinging on the porch.
And I spent a little time admiring the trees and enjoying the cooler temperatures. We even had a wonderful mountain rainstorm, complete with thunder, lightning, and hail! The temperatures were in the 70’s during the day and the 50’s at night–perfect weather for this desert girl who is tired of the one – hundred and teens!
Since there weren’t the distractions of telephone and Wi-Fi, I just relaxed and worked on some hand-stitched projects.
I finished up 8 new hexagon flowers, one hex-den flower, and one six-pointed diamond star (my first time making the diamond star and hex-den flower blocks). Although I wasn’t anxious to leave the scenery and the weather, it will feel great to be able to use my sewing machine this week. This is the last week of summer vacation for me, so I definitely need to get some sewing accomplished!
Sounds absolutely heavenly! Glad you had a great getaway!

What a lovely getaway! I've never heard of a hex-den flower… guess I have some researching to do! Thanks for the inspiration 🙂

Awww….a heavenly break!
I hope you are having a relaxing time. When I saw trees, I knew you had left Nevada 🙂
Such a lovely cabin! I am so glad you had a great time. Enjoy your last week of vacation!!
Have a nice vacation!
Thanks for that pictures. It's a lovely an refreshing place, that look so exotic to me, as I was born in Paris (France) I leave in the heart of a town after leaving 10 years by the seaside. Blogs are inspiring and make us travel ! Have a great time and enjoy before going back to work.

Would of loved to have been there with you. It has really been a hot summer, even here in northern Utah. We can't get any rain. I know how hot it is where you live. Love your Hexe's.
Hex-den? New machine? I'm coming to your place- too much fun going on there!
Looks like you had a fabulous weekend! I was in hexie making mode this weekend too…..but I've never heard of a hex-den flower. Are they pre-cut paper pieces or did you make them yourself?
What a beautiful place to relax in!! Love your hand pieced bits.
