Hello! Happy October! Fall is definitely in the air, and I have some fun fall projects to share which are all variations on a tutorial I did a few weeks ago!
My original tutorial was for a set of fall place mats which included a small maple
leaf block design (see the full tutorial here). Michele and I asked everyone to create something fun this month using that project as inspiration! First up (photo above) is the super cute table topper by Brenda! I love how she made maple leaf blocks and combined them with simple patchwork. Such a fun project!
Hildy made a a runner, and I love her design as well. I especially love the leaf blocks she added into the border!
And Karen made place mats, but used a fun striped border fabric to really make these stand out. I love how she placed the maple leaf blocks at the top!
Finally, Patty used a lot of open space and made 5 small maple leaf blocks with two larger ones for a fun table topper!
It’s always fun to see what everyone does with just a little bit of inspiration. Be sure to stop by Michele’s blog to see the other projects in this month’s parade!
For October we thought it would be fun to revisit one of my tutorials from 2011 for a simple patchwork bag. With Christmas just around the corner everyone will have plenty of uses for these fun gift bags. Use them for toiletries, gifts, sewing supplies…and many more things!
You can click the photo above or go here to find my original tutorial for this project…you don’t have to use holiday fabric for your bag…use kitchen fabric for a kitchen-themed gift or florals for a gift bag filled with shower gels and soaps…I can’t wait to see what everyone makes!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
